November, 2015, NEWSLETTER The Pastor’s Page- November, 2015 The year end is approaching and there are many activities between now and the first of 2016. We have hosted the EBA for the 2015 annual session and my thanks go out to all that fed, played, sang, and provided hospitality and assistance. As many of you may know, Paul Langston is no longer with EBA but has taken a state level position with Baptist Men’s Ministry. We will pray for Brother Richard Weeks as he begins his service to EBA as interim director. Our 2015 Fall Festival was a huge success and again our thanks go out to each of you for your participation and support. Other events and ministry opportunities for November are: 1. Sunday November 8th, we will have a special Veterans Day observation during our morning service. 2. On Sunday November 8th, we will have a business conference that evening at 6:00 PM. We will hear reports from our teams and have time set aside to address other matters of business. There are important changes to our operating procedures as the Incorporation team finalizes its work and recommendations for fully implementing the requirements to comply with the incorporation process. 3. On Sunday evening, November 22nd, we are having a special Thanksgiving service beginning at 6:00PM. Please invite others to come and participate in this special time of praising God and giving Thanks for ALL HIS BLESSINGS. We will not have service the following Wednesday evening. 4. Sunday evening on November 29th, beginning at 6:00 PM, we will celebrate the “Hanging of the Green.” The church voted to accept the student pastor search committee and they will need your prayerful support and your constructive advice in this search process. Please continue to support our many and varied church ministries such as “Team-Kids” , Student Ministry, Nursery ministry, Sunday School, Wednesday night prayer and bible studies, as well as Sunday AM worship and Sunday PM bible study. Please contact or call your deacon if you or your family has need. I encourage each Sunday school class to make follow up contact with members that may be absent. Please call or visit our sick, shut-ins, and those that are going through crisis. They will appreciate your concern and the act of love. If you have knowledge of a need that the Pastor can help fill, please let me know. Thank you for your Love and labor in the Lord at CBC. Plans are underway for our Youth’s trip to Winterfest 2015 at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. The Youth Leaders have called a meeting @ 5 PM on Sunday, November 1, and those students who are planning to attend Winterfest should be at that meeting along with their parents. Cost per person will be determined by how many attend and also by how much the students can make with fundraisers but a “ballpark” amount will be around $400 per person. Dates for Winterfest 2015 are December 30 and 31. Speakers are David Nasser and Clayton King this year and musical groups include Matthew West, Need to Breathe, Colton Dixon, Casting Crowns, Burlap to Cashmere, Comedian John Crist, and many, many more! Look for more info in the December Newsletter and upcoming bulletins. Parents, this is an incredible experience for students that allows them to worship, play and fellowship with other youth in a positive, safe environment. Parents, please let one of the Youth Leaders know by Wednesday, November 4, if your child is planning to attend. JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS GIFTGIVING! Our Youth will once again be selling God’s Creation 2016 Wall Calendars to help defray the cost of Winterfest 2015 at Liberty University. These beautiful, useful calendars are $7 each and they make fantastic gifts. They will be available in a couple of weeks. Sunday Evening, November 22, at 6 PM Corinth will host a Special Thanksgiving Service and invite other area churches. We will have an evening of worship, testimonies, singing and fellowship. We hope all our church family can make this service and invite others to join you. We are asking each family to provide finger foods to be served afterwards.
