PRESIDENT’S NOTE
Volume 11
Number 8
CONTENTS
This being the first comments as President you
will find out that I don't have a lot to say.
First and foremost, I want to thank my VP for filling in for me with last month's comments. Second, I want to thank Marie and Kelly Misfeldt for
hosting our July meeting and their yearly Ice
Cream Social. A big thanks to Kelly for the
phone call so I didn't miss the meeting.
We had a great turn-out to the meeting/ice cream
social. This club is really getting active and I will
do my best to keep it going and support all who
help.
Last but not least, I want to remind anyone that
has a charitable children's suggestion to present
it in writing, to Jerry Davis (Donation Chairman).

MONTHLY ACTIVITY REPORT
[Editor’s Note: Please welcome Mark to our arsenal of talented and worthy scribes with his second presentation of what
has gone on and what may happen. His writing style is unique—Pure Mark, and it will make you smile. Your friendly
Editor will do a little polishing here and there (using a sledgehammer, bulldozer, and dump truck), but Mark’s signature
style will shine through.]
HERE WE GO!!! - WELCOME AGAIN, MARK
PAST ACTIVITIES
Howdy all you LARC members, here we go again, I am really missing Mike D. but the show must go on,
so here goes!!
July 4th, Friday Night Fever found the Kidds and the Webers at Cecils at 5:00 just in case some people
hadn't got the word about the new summer hours to start at 6:00. We said to each other that we might be
the only ones to show up, but as usual we were wrong, and had a great showing, 240 cars showed up I mean
24 sorry about that, wishful thinking got the best of me. (Ed, Note: Include calculator as necessary purchase)
Some cars were even decorated for the 4th. of July. John and Vickie Solis won best decorated car, their "59
Chevy" covered with graffiti, I mean decorations was the sure winner... Thanks to everyone who participated
and many thanks to John and Vickie. We are going to lose our food truck through a lack of paying customers. Michele will be glad to do our annual car show though.
July 5th in Kingsland for the Aqua Boom Show, We were a great big hit with the spectators and the ABcommittee, if this keeps getting bigger like it has been we will have to expand late arrivals into the parking lot
next door. We had 35 cars show up, and some of the visitors said they would like to bring their hot rods and
classic cars next year. I think our pot luck bringers and Gourmet Hot Dawgers had a great time. Seems like
everyone was laughing and having a great time. Thanks to all who brought great food and to the guys who
drove all the way to Costco in Austin to bring you the best Gourmet Hot Dawgs anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!, and then
cooked them to order huh miss Peggy D and Auntie B.
July 12th Club Meeting, Kelly and Marie put on one helluva meeting, actually once our President finally
showed up ( he was taking his lil nappy) I am sorry Bob, I couldn't this go by, we had a great meeting, one of
the best yet!!!!!!!!!!! What Kelly and Marie did for this club was truly wonderful. Huge Huge thanks to you guys
for all the work you did to put this on it went perfectly, we all had a great time. again thanks.
July 19th at Haley Nelson Park had 15 LARC cars being looked at during the Blue Grass Festival, and we
all got to set under a giant tent with a breeze blowing through and listen to some good music.. AND EAT
CUPPY CAKES brought by the goodliest lookin’ woman ever, Mizz Shirley Anderson, and don't even get me
started on where she kept one LUCKY cuppy cake... omg unbelievable!!!! (Another Ed. Note: There has to
be a story there). How bout that Prada dog uhh We all had a great time except Ron A. who forgot to bring the
Blue Bell ice-cream, but we forgave him finally (Ed. Note, dangling participle UGGGHHHH!!!!).
FUTURE EVENTS
Aug 1st Friday Nite Fever - weather permitting our next function will be at Cecils 6:00 till ????
Aug 2nd will be the fund raiser for Stu Harris. Stu was diagnosed with liver cancer, a liver transplant is his
ONLY OPTION!!!!!!!! ALL proceeds will go directly towards his medical expenses. It will be at Kingsland
Community Center from 11:00 on, there will be a silent auction 10:00 - 4:00 and a live auction at 4:30 BBQ
from 2:30- 4:30 $10 per plate. live music throughout the day. lA lot of the club members know Jim Boise
from Mason, Jim has known Stu since they were 3 years old,
2
Jim says he is just a great person and he will be there with his gang from Mason. I believe this to be a must
go to fund raiser so lets help this person out.
ANCIENT HISTORY
Sat. the 26 of July found the Craws, Webers and myself, cruisin’ to Cedar Park for their Saturday night
cruise in. If there is anyone who wants to caravan there, we can set it up...coming back on 1431. apparently
when I set my speedometer in the Falcon I was a little short on the numbers, I thought I was doing 60 in a 55
zone but apparently not, oh well it was fun.
End of activity report, any complaints you know what do??? OUCH!!! Mark. (Ouch from the editor too)
EDITOR’S NOTE
Now, that wasn’t so bad, was it? Not too bad for a second installment. Your friendly editor still likes it and
hopes that Mark will continue to use that unique style that brought a smile to his (the editor’s) face. Everyone
has a unique talent. Mike’s and Mark’s styles are as different as day and night, but both are fun to read and
very informative. We are still having software compatibility problems, and Ron Adwers has generously
stepped into the breach and provided your editor with a CD of the event pictures in this issue. Even your editor can’t screw up a CD. We have so much empty space on this page that your editor wanted to fill up the
blank areas with something. Here is something well worthwhile.

AN APPEAL FOR HELP
To all of you new members, Ron McMinimy was a beloved club member who passed away. This request
from his niece for assistance is to anyone who might be able to help her. The forwarded message did not
include her email address but if you are willing to help her, contact Shirley Anderson at [email protected] for Rose's info, or use the phone number included.
This is from Rose Hamel, Ron McMinimy's niece.
Ryan has set a date to move to California and it has come time for me to sell my uncle Ron's vehicles to set
up Ryan's trust fund. I am in need of advice to help me not to undersell these vehicles. Is there someone
you can put me in touch with that can help me know what to ask for and how to go about selling my uncles
show truck, his truck, RV, and dune buggy? I have no idea even where to start, so any advice and help you
can give me would be greatly appreciated. As soon as Ryan makes the move, we will eventually have an
estate sale, and the house/property will go on the market (all to go into trust for Ryan). I have help with these
from my family (my niece works with two real-estate companies in Austin), attorney and financial advisor.
Needless to say, this is a difficult task emotionally, but it needs to be done so Ryan can move on with his life
and I can move back to my own land and home. If you have someone that can help, they can email me or
call me at 254-865-6343, or if they would rather, I can call them.
Thank you for all your help and may GOD bless you!
Rose Hamel
