One week in Watersound, Florida Enjoy a week of quiet luxury at Cara and Tripp Haston’s beach escape in Watersound, Florida. Overlooking the vast sand dunes and turquoise waters of Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast, the Hastons’ three bedroom and three and a half bathroom place in The Crossings community at Watersound is beautifully appointed and recently featured in the pages of Coastal Living. Watersound is set in naturally beautiful South Walton County between Destin and Panama City Beach. The region is often referred to as “30‐A” the name of the two‐lane state road that connects a series of coastal towns. Unique to neighboring communities, Watersound has more than one mile of private, wide, white, sandy beaches to enjoy. The two‐story unit’s attractive king master bedroom on the ground floor features a large master bath with two walk‐in closets, jetted garden tub and separate shower. Take a nap or read your favorite book while relaxing to the waves on your private covered patio off the master bedroom which opens to the boardwalks through the dunes to the beach and to the pool. Also downstairs is an extra bunk‐room for little ones and, if you must, a wireless‐equipped nook office. Upstairs features two bedrooms: one with another king bed, and the third bedroom with twin beds. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom, as well as a TV and DVD player. The living area is very spacious and relaxing with a calming appeal and features a large TV, DVD and stereo. The kitchen has all the comforts for a gourmet cook and the only challenge you will encounter is deciding whether to cook in or where to dine out. The dining room table has seating for eight, but the best feature of this condo is the spacious balcony and porch with comfortable chairs overlooking the dunes and the gorgeous Gulf of Mexico. A portion of the porch is shaded with comfortable seating for four, while the other portion is open to the sun. Just a short stroll away is the large private pool for the guests of the Crossings at Watersound. This pool is but one of three distinctive and easily accessible pools in the community and is surrounded by a lovely grassy area and large outdoor fireplace with the waves crashing behind you. There are also two commercial gas‐grills at the pool for your convenience. Beyond the beach, you can ride your bike, walk, or drive a few miles to Seaside, Seagrove, Alys Beach or Rosemary Beach. The 30‐A bike trail will take you from Santa Rosa Beach to Inlet Beach, and you can stop along the way to look at all the neat little shops at Gulf Place, Watercolor, Seaside, Seagrove, Alys Beach, Seacrest, Rosemary Beach and Inlet Beach. This area has some of the best restaurants and also some of the most unique shopping available along the Emerald Coast.
