Thanks for coming to the
24TH Annual Bedouin Bazaar!
Welcome to the 24th Annual Bedouin Bazaar. This year,
due to economic reasons, I have switched to one day. This allows me to
reduce vendor fees. Remember, the vendor fees pay for the facility, so
please support them, and “Shop ‘til you drop!”
Additionally, the second floor has a swap meet area giving dancers a
chance to find some real bargains, so don‛t forget to check it out.
Mèsmera and Angelika Nemeth are this year‛s seminar instructors.
Fan the Fire with Mèsmera, and set your inner gypsy free. Enjoy
Angelika‛s Enriching Your Dance three-hour intensive covering
transitions, phrasing, and cultural expressions. There‛s still room in both
seminars, don‛t miss the opportunity.
Both instructors will be performing with the Bedouin Bazaar Band
featuring John Bilezikjian, Dave Dhillon, and Richard Steiger. We are
fortunate again this year to have the superb vocalizations and ‘oud
playing of John, and the thrilling beats of Dave and Richard. The live
music part of the day is from 5:30 to 6:30.
The only authorized video recording is by Arnie Larner Productions.
Please be respectful to Arnie and Jeanie as they need to make a living,
and don‛t video record. You may purchase a copy of your performance
suitable for YouTube sharing or just enjoying with friends and family.
See the volunteers at the front desk to reserve your copy.
Enjoy your day shopping, dancing, learning, and watching the
show. Renew old friendships or make new ones. When you get hungry
or thirsty, Harry‛s Catering (formerly the Egyptian Tea Room)
is located just outside the main entrance. As always, there are
tempting sinful desserts as well as healthy, delicious meals. Have a
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious day!

Seminar 2: Sunday, October 14TH, 2012
2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
ENRICHING YOUR DANCE
Transitions, Phrasing, and Cultural Expression
In this three-hour workshop, we will develop and deepen Oriental
dance skills by focusing on transitions, phrasing, and cultural
expression. Two Egyptian-style Oriental combinations will be
taught to work on these areas. By sharpening these skills your
dance will be more textured, authentic, and dynamic allowing your
personality and dance to shine.
Known for her sultry and expressive style, Angelika Nemeth
elegantly blends traditional forms with a contemporary flair. She
is recognized as one of the world‛s premier dancers performing
and teaching Raqs Sharqi. Angelika is currently on the dance
faculties of two Southern California colleges where she teaches
accredited classes in Middle-Eastern dance. Her artistic legacy
has significantly influenced the field of Middle-Eastern dance not
only in Southern California but worldwide. She has certificates
in Dance and Theatre Arts and Related Technologies, holds a BS
degree in Education and an MA in Psychology specializing in the
Transformational Arts.
