There’s no mistaking that the
last five years have been difficult,

the Great Recession (as it has been
called) took its toll by forcing the

graduated from Herbert Hoover
High School in 1979. He has very

He resides in La Crescenta. His

In 1991 the Lavanchy family opened Avanti Trattoria, an Italian
family style restaurant in Santa Monica. After six successful years we
felt it was time for a change, and finally reached our future destination,
Montrose.

Immediately we fell in love with the quaint family town and decided
we would open a restaurant. In July of 1996 we inaugurated Divina
Cucina. The décor alfresco is exceptionally enjoyable in the summer,
but is also very comfortable during the winter with the aid of heat
lamps. In the patio there is a beautiful fountain which creates a romantic
ambiance. The restaurant is inviting to families, and our children’s menu
is very popular offering pizza, pasta, desserts and drinks.
The menu consists of mostly Northern Italian dishes,including
appetizers, salads, pastas, pizzas, chicken, and veal dishes. Every
week the chef creates delicious specials. Some of the most popular
are ossobuco, lamb chops, and seafood pasta. Lastly, don’t forget to
ask about soups! Each day there is a different soup and they are all
absolutely wonderful. The wine list is extensive ranging from various
domestic wines to many imported wines.
We are family run and owned. Mr. and Mrs. Lavanchy own the
restaurant and their daughters as well as other family members help
manage the restaurant.

“We are still family owned and operated and have been for 96 years,”
