Flexible in design,
efficient in use
| We pay special attention to our
customers’ wishes and fulfill the
highest quality standards.
IPS21 front-wheel disc brake
The sliding brake caliper combines low weight with comfort
and safety features. Its low vibration sensitivity and the pull-push
principle ensure low noise propensity and a high degree of
braking comfort. The IPS21 can be equipped with one to three
pistons of diameters from 38 to 65 mm. When equipped with
frame the outer disc diameter can be increased without trade-off
in terms of caliper stiffness. This offers an optimum of thermal
brake capacity and safety.
ZOH front-wheel disc brake
Our ZOH (Zero Offset Harmonized) brake has also been
developed on the floating-caliper principle. Here the guide
and locking bolts are located above the brake disc. Bolt
loading is minimized by the symmetrical arrangement towards
the center of the disc. As the pad-sliding system has stainless-steel springs, the ZOH provides permanently low sliding
forces. This ensures minimum residual drag and differential
lining wear.
The standard IPS21 is designed as a fist-type caliper. The housing
is also available with a frame or in a shell design. It can be made
of cast iron or aluminum. The IPS21 composite combines a stiff
cast iron bridge with the weight advantage of an aluminum
made housing.
Depending on the customer’s wishes, we offer the ZOH in
graphite cast-iron or aluminum versions.

One component for
several functions
BIR rear-wheel disc brake
Based on the ZOH principle (see page 5), our BIR combines
the functions of service brake and parking brake in one component. Its integrated “Ball-in-Ramp unit” converts the turning
movement of the lever and the tensile force of the brake cable
into the clamping force of the brake piston.
In addition to its extraordinarily high mechanical efficiency,
our BIR features impressively low weight and residual drag.
Both these features contribute toward fuel savings.
Depending on the customer’s wishes, we offer the BIR in
cast-iron or aluminum versions.
| Brake calipers with Ball-in-Ramp technology unite the functions of service
and parking brake in one component.
BIRplus rear-wheel disc brake
Our BIRplus is the version for light commercial vehicles and
passenger cars weighing up to 4000 kgs GVW. Like the BIR, it
employs Ball-in-Ramp technology based on the ZOH principle,
and combines the functions of service and parking brake in
one component. It differs from it, however, in its improved
performance features (piston-clamping force, input force and
operational sturdiness) as well as being compatible with our
automatic parking brake APB-C (Cable Puller).
Depending on the customer’s wishes, we offer the BIRplus in
cast-iron or aluminum versions.

More comfortable and
safer braking
APB-M automatic parking brake
By comparison with mechanically activated parking brakes,
our APB-M automatic parking brake reduces the risk of a
vehicle unintentionally rolling away. An activation button
replaces the mechanical operating equipment, thus freeing
up valuable space in the vehicle interior.
The standstill-management functions AVH (Automated Vehicle
Hold) and AVR (Automated Vehicle Release) increase convenience when stopping or driving off uphill by preventing unintentional roll-back. Driving off is made easier via the targeted
release of the brakes. (Dependent on inclination, acceleratorpedal position, clutch and transmission status.)
Our APB-M automatic parking brake can be supplied both
with IPS21 brake calipers and with ZOH.
| Highly-developed functions and materials
for the best possible safety and maximum
comfort.
Brake discs
Brake discs from Bosch are highly-developed safety components which function reliably even under the most extreme
loads. High temperature conductivity, low thermal tension, high
resistance to thermal cracks, ideal damping characteristics,
reduced brake judder and low noise generation characterize
our brake discs.
They are made of unalloyed or low-alloyed gray cast-iron material which, at the customer’s request, can be processed ready
for fitting.

Reliable, sturdy
and economical

Maintenance-free, innovative quality for
many, many thousands of kilometers.
Drum brake
The Bosch drum brake is used as a service brake with integrated
parking-brake function. Its low weight, great reliability and lack
of sensitivity to noise make it an extremely economical solution
while at the same time offering high performance. Low-wear
linings and automatic re-adjustment with temperature compensation give it a long working life. Sturdy, maintenance-free wheel
cylinders made of gray cast iron or aluminum assure problemfree long-term operation.
DIH (Drum in Hat) drum brake
Integrated in a disc brake on the rear axle, the “Drum in Hat”
takes over the function of the parking brake. As well as being
sturdy and corrosion-resistant, its convincing feature is its
“Duo-Servo Principle” and the resulting evenly high forward/
backward brake coefficient. One further important safety
feature is the high resistance to unintentional rolling away.
On top of all this, our DIH is compatible with our APB-C
automatic parking brake (Cable Puller).
In addition, “Blind Fit” permits the hidden fitting of the brake
cable via push and click with the brake drum already mounted,
thus cutting down assembly costs.
Banksia drum brake
The sturdy and simple construction of our Banksia drum brake
with considerably strengthened one-component lining shoe
offers more than adequate braking performance in all situations.
