Ms de Rijk taught her class with professionalism and understanding. She always had the children's best interest at heart and she cared for each child in her class. She had a good rapport with her parents keeping them informed when the need arose. Her classroom was always well organised, neat and welcoming. Ms de Rijk involved herself fully in the life of the school. She attended school functions regularly, She coached swimming and netball. She spent many hours beside the pool and the netball courts. She was always willing to go the “extra mile”. Ms de Rijk’s sense of responsibility and dedication will be missed at St Dominic’s. We thank her for the 2 years that she spent at St Dominic’s with us. It was the 1st time that they have included Primary School sport at this festival and it was definitely enjoyed by all. We have not started our netball season yet, so our girls had a challenge of competing against teams who have already been practising. Our girls stood their ground and the results were as follows: we lost our 1st game to Cornwall Hill, won our second game against Rynfield and then lost our last game by the skin of our teeth against St Dunstan’s. Well done girls! Thank you to Coach Nel for umpiring all the games and for joining us on the day. Thank you to Mrs Van Dyk, Mrs Bradbury, Miss Venter and all the parents who came along to support. Chatterbox Twelve girls, from Grade 4 to 7, represented St Dominic’s at a Chatterbox evening held on the 30th of March at CBC.
