Latest news
As the dollar versus the kroner keeps decreasing it’s value 1$ = 5,2 Kr, US again is back as a preferred
destination for many travelers. Arrivals into US from the Nordic region has showed very positive figures for
first half of 2010, close to ½ million travelers has visited US during the first six months of 2010 –
Denmark +5,4%
Sweden + 21,%
Norway + 11,8%
Overall international visitation was up 11% for the first six months of 2010, over same period 2009 a total
of 27,5 millin intl visitors.
From the corporate market segment, all are reporting a significant increase in business travelers and the
MICE segment traveling long haul. CWT was up 42% first six months of 2010 over same period 2009
On the airline side, eight airlines will be operating 165 weekly departures between Scandinavia and US from
summer 2011, the largest ever counted, counting 17 different routes in total. Icelandair is the largest and
will operate 41 departures between Scandinavia and US (1 stop though Iceland) while SAS will have 35
departures.

We have 15 tour operators and airlines signed up for the round table meeting, plus 12 media for the wine
reception

Winnipeg
Copenhagen Airport, the key gateway to Scandinavia & Finland launched they have LA and
Miami as #1 & # 2 as their primary target for new routes for 2011

100 travel agents from the south of Sweden attended the PATA workshop. Good mix of leisure (Big
travel, Ving…) and business travel companies (HRG, VIA Travel, Ticket…). Presentation followed by
networking dinner.

Rese-konsulterna is planning on organizing coach tours to California 6 times a year for 2011.

popular subjects. Every year in January the magazine publish its yearly travel articles (4 pages and
