TruckLok Installation
Instructions - Ford Ranger
Read all instructions carefully. If you have any questions about installing TruckLok, please call our
helpline on 0845 644 4704. Connections to the vehicle should be soldered and insulated carefully.
1. Remove tailgate cover
5. Route loom out of tailgate through hole
into light cluster.
9. Replace Tailgate cover using screw supplied to secure actuator bracket.

2. Remove bolt and plastic insert
6. Pass loom through bottom of light recess
11. Run the cable along the chassis, taking
care to ensure it is kept away from heat
sources.
12. Bring the cable through the grommet
located under the driver’s seat.
13. Remove the door sill trim from the
driver side front door and the kick panel to
the right of the pedals.
3. Slide bracket into tailgate. Replace bolt
4. Remove driver’s side light cluster
7. Connect loom to Actuator wires.
14. Locate the relay for the central locking.
It is the middle white relay above the accelerator pedal. Connect the wires as follows:

Red
Green
Blue
Red
8. Secure connecting block to inside of tailgate using cable ties & self adhesive clip
15. Close all doors and test using vehicle’s
key. Do not test repeatedly as the actuator
may overheat. If the lock/unlock functions
are reversed, it may be necessary to swap
the wires in step 7.
16. Replace all trim and tailgate cover.
Installation notes: The Ranger, like all new vehicles is fitted with a security device which ensures that doors are not unlocked mistakenly. If doors are unlocked and not opened within 20 secs, they will lock themselves. TruckLok does not over-ride this feature. The tailgate
may lock itself if no cab doors are opened after unlocking.
