The students have also enjoyed learning to play on the new drum kits with Matt Zarb, during our music lessons. EDUCATION WEEK 2015 What a wonderful showcase of the strengths and talents of the students of Taree Public School! Thank you to all the parents, family and community members who attended to make the day so special. The children have made many comments about how pleased they were to show off the work they have been doing in class. It was so lovely to see those who attended spend some time talking to the children whose family were unable to attend. Thank you. The whole school assembly was the perfect opportunity to see first-hand the many talented students – from the leaders who conducted the assembly (Elizabeth and Joshua), Tiara who invited Uncle Russell to speak, and how could we forget the solo performances of Imran, the spect, responsibility and pride have remained the same. Their message was also very strong; that school provides a positive learning place; anything is possible so long as you try and each and every person is a hero. The staff and children would also like to thank Matt Zarb, our fabulous music tutor for the time and dedication he put into making sure the musical items were of such a high standard. The weather could not have been better to join family and friends for the sausage sizzle that followed the assembly. Many students and parents enjoyed the games that Uncle Russell made available during the break – they certainly reminded the more ‘elderly’ visitors recall their school days. The theme of Education Week – ‘Local Heroes’ was summed up in the assembly awards presented to a group of special students. These awards were chosen not by the teachers but by the children’s peers. Congratulations Ava - K/1B, Charlie – K/2C, Josie 2/3V, Caleb – K/6C, Cody – 3/6R and Oscar 4/5/6D, and congratulations to all Taree Public school students for the wonderful way in which they presented themselves on the day. choir and band!
