2010 Bucktail Council, Boy Scouts of America A N N U A L R E P O R T Letter from the Council President and Scout Executive We are proud of all that we accomplished in 2010! The Bucktail Council, Boy Scouts of America is an organization committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. Through the efforts of nearly 1000 dedicated volunteers and the support of religious and community organizations, the Bucktail Council reached more than 2200 youth in 2010 with its program of citizenship, mental and physical fitness, and strong moral character. For 100 years the the Boy Scouts of America has captured the imagination of young boys in our great nation. Since its inception, the BSA has adapted to provide programs for younger boys, teenage girls and workforce training. We look forward to developing the leaders of the future in the next 100 years! Our council, thriving more than ever, accomplished the Bronze-level of the BSA's new council performance recognition program called Journey to Excellence. Journey to Excellence is a National level recognition program that is designed to encourage and reward success and measure the performance of local councils. On behalf of all of the youth in Scouting, we thank you for your support! Sincerely, Joel E. Peterson Council President Gregg T. Bennett Scout Executive MISSION STATEMENT SCOUT OATH The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. 2010 Annual Campaign Pacesetter C.
