Navy SEAL Flyin’ Frogs Take First Place at the 24 Hours of Adrenalin
NSW Flyin’ Frogs Endurance Team (L to R): Keith Davids, Hans Garcia, Mike Everett and Eric Skalski
The Navy SEAL Flyin’ Frogs continued their winning ways with an impressive victory this weekend at the Hurkey
Creek 24 Hours of Adrenalin. Led by the sub-50 minute lap times of speedster Mike Everett and his Evolve, the
team ran a nearly flawless race to win the 4 man class by 2 laps over the second place finishers. True to form,
the Flyin’ Frogs used pure speed early in the race to open up a lead and then ran consistently fast lap times
throughout the evening to pull away from the competition. By daybreak Sunday, the Team had a full lap lead
over their closest competitor.
In the Men’s 24 Hour Solo Class, Brian “Tosh” Chontosh (USMC, Team Semper Fi/Veterans of Valor) made the
switch from Adventure Racing to Endurance Racing and put out 11 laps in his first mountain bike race ever.
Tosh’s 11 laps tied for 4th in the Men’s Solo Division.
In the 4 Hour Solo Open NSW Flyin’ Frog Brian Curtiss placed 6th after a blown front rim cost him over 20 minutes
in the pit area for repairs and Yvette Davids, wife of Flyin’ Frog Keith Davids, took 10th place.
Former SEAL Bernd Haferkamp led his Team Chicken to not only a 4th place finish in the 5 man class but also to a
$500 grand prize for the best Team theme.
