Chatham Cup Draw
NRFL Division 1 Mangere United, the only club still alive from outside their region’s top
division – face a trip to Football South Premier League club Dunedin Technical to meet
the 1999 champions in the deep south over the weekend of August 8-9.
Elsewhere, 2015 ASB Chatham Cup runners-up Central United – also five-time
winners – will battle NRFL Premier League rivals Birkenhead United AFC in a re-match
of their dramatic 2014 third-round meeting which saw Central recover from a 3-0 deficit
with 10 men to advance.
The last of the quarter-final clashes sees Central League rivals Western
Suburbs host 2014 semi-finalists and four-time competition champions Napier City
Rovers.
The tie brings together the top two sides in the
Central League with Napier City Rovers currently holding an
eight point lead over their Wellington-based opponents.
The four quarter-final ties will be played over the
weekend of August 8-9.

Mangere United came into being in the year
2000 as a result of the passionate desire of
thousands of football fans living in South
Auckland, especially the Mangere region, to
have a club of their own.
Mangere United is well known for
routinely drawing huge crowds – some of the
biggest in New Zealand football – over the years
in a resounding testimony to its popularity and
all-embracing culture.
With a fanbase running into thousands,
Mangere United has often proved to be the
pleasing exception to the rule in rugby country.
Mangere’s fans are known for their passionate support to the team, pulling out
all stops in home-and-away games, and creating a colourful and vibrant
atmosphere during the games.
Mangere United has a proud tradition of being one of the main breeding
grounds of football in New
Mangere v Oratia
Zealand, keeping up a steady
supply to the national sides.
Daniel Kaprovic, Andrew
Gillespie and Miro Major are
some of the players who plied
their trade at Mangere Centre

Park before representing the

country on the world stage. Stuart
Bola, Nikola Raoma, Inoke
Boseilala and Waisake Sabutu
earned their spurs at Mangere
United before representing Fiji in
international competitions.

Keeper moved... four times, retakes...
Great news that the Milk Cup lads did so well in Northern Ireland.
They met some heavyweights from Bogota Columbia, Barcelona in
Spain, and the Africans from Zambia, should fill a page or two in
some player diaries or Biographies - win or lose... And the yanks
from Orange County will not be bad either - that catchment area has
over 7,000,000 registered players - enough to make registrations
ring the bell on even on an old fashioned Van Gorp cash register
And big drama in the semi-final Penalty Shootout v. Lusaka, the repeat pens
because the keeper moved - four times - must have had young Emrys McNab
twitching with nerves - but he sunk the spotkick eventually.
Good on the woman linesperson, who stuck to her guns when many refs
these days ignore keeper movement even a high level. A bit like young linesmen who
signal offside, then take the flag down - keep that flag
up, unless the ref gives you a nod and a wave...
More good news to hear that young Cam
Howieson has signed for St. Mirren, when he seemed
to have vanished off the pro scene. There are more
than a few ‘Buddies’ ( St. Mirren fans ) in Enzed,
notably wee Jimmy Doc who is still seen at Tonga
park.
St. Mirren’s brand new manager, Ian Murray
played for Scotland and the Hibees, and his cousin
Dave Johnston up at Ellis park rates him as a good
character. On his Milk Cup refereeing soujourn,
Hamish Phillip was also made welcome at Easter
Road by Murray - so a few locals will watch with
interest the fortunes of Cam and his Buddy manager.
And - hey, watch out for that early 12.30 pm

with mixed emotions after a succesful Milk Cup adventure - yet tinged with

The Prems had a bye this
week, so the Seconds took
centre stage on Ellis 1 against
Grants Braes, and had Fletty
and Wilkie back on board.
Wilkie opened the scoring early
on but Braes equalised to be
square at half time.
Peewee was stoked with the
effort in the second half though,
as the boys really clicked and
played some great footy. Wilkie
scored another couple to
complete his hat trick, and
Kieran McIntyre scored two
including a stunner from
distance and picked up POD. A
good effort and the lads looked
like they were enjoying
themselves and could have scored a load more goals too.
The Thirds were next door on Ellis 2 against Tech but didn't fare so well, going
down 1-3 on a heavy 10 track. It was always going to be tough after conceding two
early, although Kristian scored a 25 yarder to keep them in the hunt at half time.
Unfortunately the only goal after the break was an oggie but the lads never stopped
trying. Sauce was dominant and chopped a bunch and captain Cam never gave up and
was PV's POD.
Derby day in the Downie Stewart Div 3 saw Lippy's Blacks come away 3-1
winners over the Whites. The underdogs started well before the Blacks kicked into gear,
with Andy and Jules getting on the scoresheet. Young Owen was impressive for the
Whites and bagged a goal & POD, and the star turn for the Blacks came from the
Running Man Greg.
Roslyn v Uni on Sunday
Page 8
After going winless for
more than a year, the
Chargers made it two
wins on the trot in
thumping Mornington 42. The score line
flattered the opposition
who spent most of the
game impersonating the
Auckland Blues and
could only manage their
opening goal through a
comical offside
(in)decision.
Mitch opened the
scoring early thanks
again to his
determination, Ben
Connor was everywhere, and Adam had safe hands in goals, but the undoubted
superstar was Fozzzzzzzzz with a sublime hat trick oozing so much composure Zlatan
would be jealous. The great escape is still on!
The Stallions were on the postage stamp against a Plainsmen side that's
already wrapped up the league, and battled away in a good match that eventually saw
the visitors come away with a 5-2 win. On a boggy pitch Honk nabbed both Stallions
goals, and Doc picked up POD with a busy performance at the back. Meanwhile the
Originals played Northern up at Brock Vegas and went down to a single goal. Mike,
Nathan and POD Dan Todd were the best of the bunch.
Another derby inhttp://www.footballsouth.co.nz/
the over 45s, with the Colts up against the Moas. With Wal
http://www.footballsouth.co.nz/
pulling the strings, the Moas
led early, before a nasty knock for Dawsy in goals saw him
taken away in an ambulance - hope you're feeling better today! The floodgates opened
after that which probably had little to do with TVG ending up between the sticks for the
Moas. Blackie got another POD for a

strong effort at the back.

Who would be
a goalkeeper ?
The Green Island Premier Team versus The Champions. Today was a game
where if you didn't bring your “A” game against a team that scores goals for fun
you will get punished. Unfortunately for us we lost a player after the 16th minute
for two yellow cards and we were already 1 nil down to a stunning Tom Jackson
goal. That made it hard for us to play against the best team in the league.
Nil – 1 at half time. But the second half was not the same as we tried to
play with three at the back in the game but the ball movement and running of the
ball from Cavy created chances and they managed to put 5 more away! Number
one field played poorly for us but you need to play your best against good teams
and we were not allowed to. MOTM Blake Porteous. Flemz
The Division Two team played against Mosgiel today. Played some
good football and created some good chances but didn't take them. Scored two
goals to lead 2 – 0 at half time. Continued to create fantastic chances in the
second half and ended up winning 6 – 1. I think we hit the post more times than
we scored.
Good
performance.

Monos Plainsmen wrapped up the over 35 section with an entertaining
game at Roslyn on the wee postage stamp field, took a bit to get used to,
but after 20mins were 2/0 up and another 2 goals scored was leading at
half time 4-0.
After the break it was a different story, Roslyn came out firing and
put two goals of their own away. One more goal to finished it off and made
a 5-2 win to finish the season with.
Goal scorers were Dan, Lettsy, Forbesie and Mono grabbed a double. MOM went to
Logan who played up front and had 33 chances and managed to put none away, Logan
ended up being the only non goal scorer in the team and we thought this was worth a
mention. A great end to the season unbeaten.
Clints 3rds took on Green Island .down at half time 0-2 - ended up at full time 1-6.
Had another young team but fantastic performance which didn't really reflect the scoreline.
Had 2 glorious opportunities at 2-0 that if taken would have been a different game.
Dominated the 2nd half but kept getting caught on the break. Jacky was outstanding in goal
made 3-4 quality saves. But man of the match was Sean McDonald.
Masters 45s were entertained by Northerns
abrasive style and we relished the opportunity to
tackle like it was 1999 again. A fantastic goal taken
by Mark saw us out in front at h/t and going uphill
upwind and upsun in the 2nd stanza meant we
didn't make too many inroads/ nearly holding on till

Northern poked one in right at the death.

Tim’s gerries went down in a scrappy game 1-0 v
Braes in masters B - shithouse all round was the
superlatives of the day.
Andys Prems travelled to tech at tahuna and
conceded within first two mins.
We got back into it and played really well for next
30. Eder equalised with a pen . Tech got a couple
just before the break from a couple of lax defended
throw ins to see us 1-3 down at the break. 2nd half
saw us compete and the balance of play was quite
even- difference was Tech were more decisive and
direct in attack - a backward glancing header from
a corner saw Tech go further ahead and Techs
defence was resolute in limiting us to a handful of
chances and despite clearing the bench we
weren't able to force our way back into the contest final result 1-5.

Womens Football
Today the Roslyn Premier Ladies took on Uni B at a beautiful looking Ellis Park. We were
super fizzed from the get go getting 2 - 0 up with in ten minutes, Kushla curling one into the
bottom right then Captain Jordyn lead by example again, netting one off her noggin from a
great corner.
Everybody seemed to take the foot off the petal after this. A couple of sloppy tackles
left us hurting and some of the girls feeling rather ill from a week of being sick meant half time
couldn't come soon enough. 2 - 0 at the half.
Second half kicked off and after a couple plays a more pale than usual Alex took her
shot from 35 yards out, it found the back of the net after going thru the keepers legs. In the
blink of an eye an off the bench Kate appeared and put us 4 - 0 up. Our backs still had to
battle hard all game, Player Of The Day Beth
Fitchett proved age is but a number as she
showed a real maturity at center back, even if
later in the game she tried her best to knock
out our own goalie.
Tessa would find the goal this week as
well putting it to 5 - 0, once again we let the
lead get to our heads as we started to lose
focus which lead to mix up at the back which
left a Uni player with the ball with the whole
goal to shoot at, they pounced on it and put the
final score to 5 - 1.
We were happy to walk away with 3
points, our girls ran their hearts out in the
game. Next week we take on Uni A's in which
will be a really big game for both teams, our
girls are fizzing for it Hamish
The Womens Reserves played
Northern at the Gardens today, in a game
where a win would secure the league. The girls
were fired up, and it didn’t take long for KerriAnne to open their account. Shortly after this
Northern scored to bring them level. The girls realized quickly that the Northern team they
faced at the start of the season, had vastly improved and that it wasn’t going to be an easy
win. They dug deep and passed the ball really well, switching play from side to side and
made Northern chase the play.
Kerri-Anne struck again to regain the lead, with Emma getting two goals before the
end of the first half to make it 4-1 at the break. It was a race to the first hat trick between
Emma and Kerri-Anne in the second half, with Kerri-Anne winning the race making it 5-1.
Emma wasn’t far behind though netting her third to finish out the game 6-1.
It was a great team effort today but POD went to Erin for great work in the middle of
the park even though she probably should have been home in bed recovering from the flu.
The Reserves are now at least 4 points clear at the top of the table with one game to play bring on the bubbles! Nigel

News from the Trough...
Former All Whites captain Ryan Nelsen says New Zealand Football should
continue to fight against disqualification from the Olympic Games.
NZF has confirmed they would appeal the decision that currently means
they'll miss out on Rio next year.
Nelsen, 37, captained the All Whites at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic
tournaments and he told Stuff.co.nz that NZF have "a duty of care to the players
to take this (appeal) as far as they possibly can."
"It's devastating for the players, and not just for soccer. It's
devastating for New Zealand sport, who won't have another Olympic team to
follow," said Nelsen.
All Whites midfielder Bill Tuiloma has signed a three-year deal with
French Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille.
Arsenal have reportedly won the race to sign French wonderkid Ismael
Bennacer. The Gunners have fended off competition from Manchester City to
land the 17-year-old, who currently plays for French third division side AC ArlesAvignon.
All Whites striker Chris Wood completed his move to English
Championship club Leeds United on Thursday. The 23-year-old striker, who has
38 international caps and 13 goals to his name, makes the switch from Leicester
City on a four year deal.
Barcelona are preparing a move for Celta Vigo ace Nolito to replace
Pedro Rodriguez, who looks close to joining Manchester United.
Wenger’s best recent moment came during Arsenal’s Member’s Day
at the Emirates Stadiumhttp://www.footballsouth.co.nz/
recently, with the whole squad taking part in a crossbar
http://www.footballsouth.co.nz/
challenge.
And just as the competition was getting started, the 65-year-old nonchalantly
threw the ball in the air, controlled it on his knee and then volleyed it effortlessly
onto the bar.
Exodus from Dunedin : Tom Jackson, Seamus Ryder, Eder Franchini, Taylor
McCormack, Cam Attwood, etc, etc, as doors close, others open... So there
could be a queue at Fridgie’s door...

At The Oval...
Under the Spotlight at De Carle
Under the eye of National Womens U20 Coach Leon Birnie, at De Carle park on
Friday evening, some talented young women gave the coach something to think
about.
Birnie - a former successful striker with Hawkes Bay - has started the preparation
cycle towards the showcase event in Papua New Guinea in October 2016. for
the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. He observed local talent along with F.
South Womens coach Hayley Stirling in a bid to to identify U20 players with
pedigree national league background before the qualifiers in September

Young Refs Perform at Cup...
No, its not the Milk Cup - although several Otago referees
have travelled to Coleraine and officiated there - notably
Hamish Phillip - and gained valuable experience...
It was at the Kanga Cup, that two of Auckland
Football’s up-and-coming referees, teenagers Jesse Dale
and Caleb Moffatt, jumped on the fast track to success after
receiving recognition for their efforts at the 25th annual
Kanga Cup.
Over 330 teams, most from Australia but some also
hailing from the Republic of Korea and New Zealand,
descended on the Australian capital this month to take part in
the biggest edition of the Kanga Cup so far.
AFF Referee Development Officer Paul Smith, who
travelled with the party alongside referee assessors Dave Brooke, Tam Cramer and
Jeremy Ferguson, says the Auckland Football officials coped well and made the most of
the experience.
Referee Assessors Cramer, Brooke and Ferguson also took hold of the
opportunity and assessed over 140 games between them over the course of the week.
Since 2008, AFF has utilised the tournament as part of the development
pathway for its young referees. The next step for Dale and Moffatt will be to participate
in the NZ Football Referee Development Academy.

For Oceania, the Road tohttp://www.footballsouth.co.nz/
Russia gets underway on 31 August 2015 when the first
matches of the 2018 FIFA http://www.footballsouth.co.nz/
World Cup Russia™ Oceania Qualifying Stage 1 tournament
kicks off in Tonga.
Four nations will contest Stage 1, American Samoa, Cook Islands, Samoa and
hosts Tonga, with the winner progressing to Stage 2 where they will join the seven
remaining Oceania Member Associations.
The eight teams have been drawn into two round-robin groups of four teams
each, which will compete for the OFC Nations Cup, a one-off tournament in a yet-to-bedetermined location, in 2016.
Group A features 2012 OFC Nations Cup champions Tahiti, and runners-up
New Caledonia as well as the Preliminary winners and Papua New Guinea. Group B
consists of regional heavyweights New Zealand, Solomon Islands, Fiji and Vanuatu.
From here, three teams from each section will move through to Stage 3 where
the six teams will be placed into two groups of three teams. The sides will compete in a
round-robin, home-and-away battle to top their group. The two group winners will
advance to a single home-and-away series.
The regional winner earns the right to face the fifth-placed South American
side in the two-legged Intercontinental Play-off in November 2017 for a place at Russia
2018.

Anorak’s Guide to Player Eligibility
Norak
Since 2004, FIFA has implemented a series of significant
changes to the rules covering international eligibility. The new
rulings are more stringent and set additional requirements that
determine which country a player may represent in
international football.
In January 2004, a new ruling came into effect that
permitted a player to represent one country at youth
international level and another at senior international level, provided that the player
applied before their 21st birthday.[10] The first player to do so was Antar Yahia, who
played for the France under-18s before representing Algeria in qualifiers for the 2004
Olympic Games. More recent examples include Sone Aluko, who has caps for the
England under-19s and Nigeria, and Andrew Driver, a former England under-21
representative who is committed to the Scotland national team.
In March 2004, FIFA amended its wider policy on international eligibility. This was
reported
President Sepp Blatter told the BBC: "If we don't stop this farce, if we don't
to be in
take care about the invaders from Brazil towards Europe, Asia and Africa

growing
trend in
some countries, such as Qatar and Togo, to naturalise players born and raised in Brazil
(and elsewhere) that have no apparent ancestral links to their new country of
citizenship.
An emergency FIFA committee ruling judged that players must be able to
demonstrate a "clear connection, to a country that they had not been born in but
wished to represent. This ruling explicitly stated that, in such scenarios, the player must
have at least one parent or grandparent who was born in that country, or the player must
have been resident in that country for at least two years.
Togo's registration of naturalised players born and raised in Brazil reportedly
influenced FIFA's decision to amend eligibility rules in 2004 In November 2007, FIFA
The residency requirement for players lacking birth or ancestral connections
with a specific country was extended from two to five years in May 2008 at FIFA's
Congress as part of Blatter's efforts to preserve the integrity of competitions involving
national teams.[16]
The relevant current FIFA statute, Article 17: Acquisition of a new nationality,
states: Any Player who ... [assumes] a new nationality and who has not played
international football [in a match ... in an official competition of any category or any type
of football for one Association] shall be eligible to play for the new representative team
only if he fulfills one of the following conditions:
(a) He was born on the territory of the relevant Association;
(b) His biological mother or biological father was born on the territory of the relevant
Association;
(c) His grandmother or grandfather was born on the territory of the relevant Association;
(d) He has lived continuously for at least five years after reaching the age of 18 on
the territory of the relevant Association.

Man Utd most Disliked ?
Manchester United are the most disliked club in the Premier League, followed by Chelsea FC and
Liverpool FC, according to a new survey.
The Trinity Mirror data unit released the “league of love and hate”, an interactive online poll
which allowed supporters to choose which premier league team they like and dislike.
As things stand, Manchester United and Chelsea FC have received more more dislike
votes than any other sides with Liverpool FC third as per report by Liverpool Echo.
The poll, which first asks the voter to reveal which club they support, says that fans of
Everton and Manchester United are the most frequent in terms of disliking Liverpool, with
Southampton fans third. That is, unsurprising given the number of players Liverpool FC have been
signing from St. Mary’s.
The biggest surprise in the poll so far is surely that Liverpool FC fans dislike Chelsea FC
more than Merseyside rivals Everton. Arsenal, as the ninth most liked team fared best of the
challengers for the top four, with Southampton, newly-promoted Bournemouth and Swansea the
most liked three teams overall.
Chelsea FC fans also listed Manchester United as their most hated team, but the club
Manchester United fans love to hate is, surprisingly, neither Liverpool FC nor Chelsea FC, but, their
cross town rivals Manchester City. Arsenal FC supporters, unsurprisingly, chose Jose Mourinho’s
Chelsea FC, with Arsene Wenger & the Portuguese well known adversaries, as most hated club.

The Gardens
Northern Prems v Uni at the Caledonian.
Unfortunately we were missing 3 keys players but
that has been the story all year. The first 30 minutes
and both teams looked a bit sluggish neither team
really creating many opportunities. University opened
the scoring around 35 minutes, and then we equalised
just before half time when Darren missed a clearance
and Angus held his nerve to fire in with 2 defenders
closing in.
HT 1-1. Second half we looked more lively and Hendo
and Angus up front were proving a handful. We scored
5 minutes into the second half from a corner which
was put down as an own goal but the defender had
Craig Wilkinson right on his shoulder.
We had 2 really good opportunities to
extend the lead but Paolo missed out by the bounce of
the ball and a post to contend with, while Hendo and
Angus combined well in the 6 yard box but got closed
down before they could shoot.
Uni scored an equaliser with 10 minutes to go with a
well taken shot from Bakker who was their best player
on the day. FT. 2-2 a fair result with both teams not
playing to their potential. We are hoping to have a full
strength team next week for the first time all year.
http://www.footballsouth.co.nz/
Cheers Muzzy
http://www.footballsouth.co.nz/
Another weekend of good football from my boys. We
played a good competitive University team at a wet
Caledonian. Once again it was a close game just like
every time we play against Uni. We took the lead from a good run down the wing from Smiley
who's cross somehow made it into the back of the net after a mistake between keeper and
defender. Credit to Uni who where honest enough to say it crossed the line.
Shortly after uni scored an equalizer after a back pass was intercepted and cooly finished
around the keeper. We then scored to make it 2-1 when 16 year old George Gray in only his
second appearance followed up a shot that was spilt by the keeper, only for Uni to equalize soon
after when their captain hit a brilliant free kick in to the bottom corner.
Half time 2-2 and the second half was just as good. We took the lead again when Shaun
Richards hit a screamer from outside the box after some great link up play. Then young Louis
Peyroux scored for his 3rd week in a row to make it 4-2, a good effort for 16 years old. Uni then
scored from a corner with ten minutes to go to make it another very nervous ending.
Credit to the lads for holding out and playing great football at times and giving a lot of effort
throughout. Two Man Of The Matches go to James Birstow who was everywhere and got really
stuck and also our keeper Alex Maynard who pulled off a lot of unbelievable saves.
2 wins in a row !! something we have not done at this level
for a couple of years. Lewis

Daunting WC Draw - but Hudson not Fazed...
All Whites coach Anthony Hudson has
insisted that a potential matchup against
a powerhouse South American side will
not have an impact on their World Cup
preparations.
The All Whites' road to the 2018
World Cup in Russia became a
daunting proposition when Oceania
was drawn to face the fifth placed South
American team in a home-and-away
qualifier for a spot at the World Cup.
If the All Whites make it through the Oceania qualifiers, they
could conceivably take on the likes of Uruguay, Colombia or Chile for a
spot at the World Cup - all sides ranked in the world's top 15.
"We're never going to have a window without a game, every
window we've got games planned. We want games but we don't want it
at the expense of correct preparation - we need quality preparation and
games, it's just about getting the right balance."
That preparation continues on the 8th of September when the All
Whites travel to play Myanmar.
Group A includes New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Tahiti,
and either American Samoa, Cook Islands, Samoa or Tonga.
New Zealand is in Group B with Fiji, Solomon Islands, and
Vanuatu.
The advancing teams are split into two groups for the third round,
and the group winners meet in a home-and-away series for the right to
meet the fifth-place team from South America in a home-and-away
playoff for a berth.
England will face old enemies Scotland in qualifying along with
Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania and Malta in Group F.
World champions Germany have been drawn alongside Czech
Republic, Northern Ireland, Norway, Azerbaijan and San Marino.
Arguably the toughest group sees 1998 champions France
alongside three-time World Cup runners-up the Netherlands and a
Sweden side captained by Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
There is also a meeting of two former winners in Group G with
Spain and Italy paired with Albania, Israel, Macedonia and Liechtenstein.

Its not over yet my friends, there is even a
Tuesday FPL match tucked away in the
fixtures below... so don’t book that Club Med
holiday until September.. although Southern
United players could be out galloping at

First of all congratulations to Tim and all at Caversham for clinching the Premier league
trophy at Sunnyvale on Saturday well done from all at Dunedin Technical.
Aaron's boys had the perfect build up for their Chatham cup game next Sunday
going 15 games unbeaten to thrash Mosgiel 5-1 at Tahuna. Mosgiel changed their game plan
this weekend trying to get the ball behind the Tech defence but as always the Tech defence
stayed strong.the Tech goals were evenly spread amongst the team with Brick scoring his
11th of the season and promising to keep the best for next weekend. Dave Hayman and
Taylor and also scoring and in the consistency on Tim McCelland earned him the POD.
Ric's boys were early at Tahuna and were one up early in the game. the first half
went backwards and forwards in the first half with PHIL Kelly being a nuscience in front of the
Tech goal and bringing the best out of Liam. Some strong runs and chances in front of goal
went missing as Tech went into halftime one up.It was a different story in the second half as
Tech went two up and a missed penalty from Mosgiel that Liam parried away meant Tech
ended up 4-1 winners. Craig's 3rds were at Ellis park with Craig the Cat Johnston wearing
the gloves. Craig's boys love Ellis park and the atmosphere that it brings and even more
rewarding to come back to Tech with a good win goals from Kurt and strong performances
from Harry Rodgers and the Bayly boys kept the 3rds on the winning path
Stu's 4ths hosted the Casino night at the Club on Saturday night which ran better
than their game earlier in the afternoon. The game plan hasn't quite run their way this season
and a 1-0 loss to Northern didn't help their cause. It's clear there is a good spirit and bond in
this team and hopefully next http://www.footballsouth.co.nz/
season will be back fighting. Well done Saturday night boys.

Both 5th's teams had
losses with the Scarfies failing to fire for the second week
running. The Young 5ths had an interesting encounter against Balclutha with a goalkeeping
Blooper early in the first half to see them drawing at halftime the a missed penalty and
disallowed goal in the second, plus some Gordon Banks goalkeeping saves in the second
failed to give them the victory they deserved going down 3-2. Great performances from the
young Mirfin with Michael and Ronald strong as ever.
Colts were on Number one against Caversham and hoping to finish the season in
style. This they did thrashing Cavy 4-1. This was a fairly quite battle compared to previous
encounter. A hatrick from Richard sealed the deal and Grant also opening his scoring for the
season. It could have been more if a missed penalty from MIke had not gone over the top but
boys happy with the result and Richard getting Pod.
The Frotters have left their run a little late for the season but went over to Ocean
Grove hoping to capitalise on their big effort last week. No LT this week but toots Rick and
Ricky ever present and strong.POD Rick who after discussion earlier in the day was even
lucky to make it to the right ground and with the strip.
Girls didn't have a good weekend last weekend suffering from the effects of Lip-sync. The
Maroons had a big defeat at Ellis Park as did the Swans at De Carle The Premier Woman
continued their undefeated run for the season drawing 1-1 with Varsity.
