MARIST LACROSSE WINS
BATTLE OF UNBEATENS;
MOVES TO 5-0
Marist Lacrosse traveled to
Guardian Angels over the
weekend and continued their
strong start with an 11-0 victory.
Marist jumped out to an 8-0 as
the ball never entered the Irish
end of the field for the entire
second quarter. Leading scoring
was Max Stowe with 5 goals and
an assist. Additional scoring was
added by Kevin Cragg (2 goals),
Jonmikal Dragojevic (2 goals),
Nick Batchynski (1 goal), and
Austin Greif (1 goal and 2 assists).
Goalie Antonio Popp recorded
his first shutout of the season in
the win. The next day Marist
headed to St. Lawrence and faced
the undefeated Mustangs. The
Irish started out fast scoring just
four seconds into the game with
Austin Greif winning the face off
and hitting an open Max Stowe
who found the net. St. Lawrence’s
offense was stymied by the
Irish defense who crowded the
Mustang shooters to the edges
of the box. As the game went
on Marist would build a 6-1 lead
halfway through the 4th quarter.
The Mustangs would add 2 late
goals but the Irish would still
come away with a 6-3 win. Stowe
(3 goals, 1 assist), Greif (1 goal, 1
assist), and Dragojevic (2 goals)
led the scoring once again. Joey
Lopez, Tyler Rowe, Nolan Weimer
and Peter Hanna combined for
a total of 14 ground balls to help
out on the defensive end. The
Irish currently sit at 5-0.

OUT CYO PLAY 3-0
ND Marist moved to 3-0 on the
season with a couple of CYO
victories against OLGC and
Guardian Angels. Marist first
faced off against Our Lady of
Good Counsel. A combination
of a solid defense and efficient
offense gave the Irish a 10-3
victory. Scoring was lead by Max
Stowe (7goals, 2 assists) and goals
from Bryce Caldwell, Andrew
McGhee, and Austin Greif. Joey
Lopez led the defense with 9
ground balls with help from
Kolbe Eurick and Nolan Weimer.
Brian Gebara, Keegan Lewerenz
and Ryan Lindsay provided
excellent midfield play. Marist
took on Guardian Angels the next
day and again a combined team
effort resulted in another victory.
Despite being tied 2 - 2 at the end
of the 1st quarter Marist pulled
away with an 11-3 win. Once
again Stowe led the scoring with
8 goals and one assist. Austin
Greif notched two goals and
three assists. Caldwell (1goal, 2
assists), Logan Currie (1 assist)
and Nicholas Batchynski (1 assist)
rounded out the scoring. Marist’s
defense comprised of Tyler
Rowe, Ian Hoke, Weimer, Lopez,
and Eurick provided a difficult
challenge for Guardian Angels
offense, holding them to one goal
through three quarters. Peter
Hanna and Michael Robbins also
chipped in on the defensive end
and goaltender Antonio Popp
made a number of critical saves.
