Week 15/16 Britain’s Got More Talent Saturday, 9.20pm Gosford Park * Mob Wives Sunday and Wednesday, 10pm Carl Froch: Sports Life Stories Sunday, 9pm Tuesday, 10pm Thunderbirds Are Go Gracepoint Wednesday, 10pm 11th - 17th April 2015 Saturday, 8am ITV.com Week 15/16 11th - 17th April 2015 Britain’s Got Talent Saturday 11th April, 8pm Ant and Dec present the ninth series of Britain's biggest talent search. The judging panel - comprising comedian David Walliams, singer Alesha Dixon, actress Amanda Holden and talent show supremo Simon Cowell - return for the fourth year running, hoping to uncover more UK talent. Auditions have been held across the country in a bid to find a variety act fit for royalty and worthy of a big cash prize, with the judges attending performances in Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and London. Previous contestants, including singers Paul Potts and Susan Boyle, dog act Ashleigh and Pudsey and last year’s winners Collabro, have gone on to achieve success across the globe. The judges provide as much entertainment as the acts themselves as they debate the talent and entertainment value of each wannabe superstar. None of the hopefuls wish to hear the dreaded sound of the judges' buzzers, but if all four judges push them, the audition will be cut short and the dream will be over. This year sees the return of the golden buzzer, which enables each judge - plus hosts Ant and Dec - to send one act each straight through to the live semi-finals regardless of the other judges’ opinions. Ant and Dec wait in the wings to provide support, either joining in the celebrations or offering a shoulder to cry on, as the acts exit the stage. Which of the acts will be returning for another performance and the chance to take the stage at this year's Royal Variety Show? Ninja Warrior UK Saturday 11th April, 7pm Already a smash hit in the USA, Sweden, Malaysia and Japan, the toughest obstacle course on television comes to Britain, hosted by Ben Shephard, Rochelle Humes and Chris Kamara. This brand new entertainment show is the ultimate test of strength, speed and courage. Contestants from all walks of life, ranging from 'have-a-go heroes' to 'superhuman athletes' are pushed to their limits as they take on the challenges of the course. Viewers are entertained by both those who can superbly execute the course to those who spectacularly fail, crashing out of the course into the water below. Each segment is laden with jaw-dropping challenges, heart-stopping excitement and adrenaline-fuelled action as the contestants attempt to complete three punishing and potentially hilarious stages. 250 ambitious competitors will start, but few will successfully overcome the toughest obstacle course ever seen on British television. Can any survive to the end to face the vertical challenge of scaling the heights of the formidable Mount Midoriyama tower and be crowned the first 'Ninja Warrior UK'? ITV.com Week 15/16 11th - 17th April 2015 Play to the Whistle Saturday 11th April, 9.20pm Holly Willoughby presents the brand new family entertainment show which combines two of the nation’s biggest passions - sport and comedy. All is wrapped up in a frantic finale as they play Squeaky Buzzer Time. Holly’s 15-year career as a TV presenter has seen her appear as the face of ITV’s This Morning, present Text Santa with Ant & Dec and serve as a team captain on Celebrity Juice. Wild Ireland Monday 13th April, 8pm Former host of The One Show Christine Bleakley – herself originally from County Down – presents this new series in which she drives, climbs, walks and swims her way along the longest continuous coastal route in the world, Ireland’s 1500-mile Wild Atlantic Way. The route passes through counties and three provinces, stretching from County Donegal’s Inishowen Peninsula to Kinsale in County Cork on the Celtic Sea coast. Along the way there are places and attractions which have been points of interest and pilgrimage for travellers over the generations. Lough Swilly was the departure point for many Irish people leaving for the New World during the great famine of 1847. Originally built by the Normans, Doe Castle became a ITV.com base for a British garrison during the nineteenth century. Bundoran has become a destination for surfers in recent years – for those brave enough to face the waves that crash in off the ocean. At Streedagh beach, there are shipwrecks left behind by the Spanish Armada on their ill-fated attempt to reach home in 1588. In this episode Christine explores Ireland’s most northerly point, Malin Head in Donegal, climbs some of the highest sea cliffs in Europe, learns how to prepare a wild salmon for smoking and joins a group of daredevils who explore the landscape by coasteering, a new activity which involves jumping from a cliff into the sea! Featuring the voices of top impressionists including Jon Culshaw and Debra Stephenson, the show’s ground-breaking mixture of low-tech traditional puppetry and state-of-the-art animation puts a satirical and surreal spin on the stories and celebrities we read about every day. A diagnosis of childhood cancer is every parent’s worst nightmare, but the children’s outlook is in turns brave, funny and humbling. Their indomitable spirit shines through at even the worst of times, and Sophie’s motto of “Happy Happy Happy, Fun Fun Fun, Always Smile” typifies the attitude of these inspiring kids. Their families are putting their faith in immunotherapy, a highly experimental new line of treatment that doctors hope will one day bring an end to cancer for good. Filmed over two years in hospital and at home, the film captures everything from the joy and excitement of the successes to the pain and heartache when things go wrong. It also shows how the lives of their families and siblings, including Chloe’s 8-year-old brother James, are affected and how they deal with the challenges. Founded as a silk printing business in 1781 by William Asprey in Mitcham, Surrey, the company soon became a byword for elegance and moved to its present location in 1847. The Nottingham fighter talks about his boyhood when he dreamed of playing football for Nottingham Forest, his days as an amateur, winning the ABA middleweight title in the late 90s, to turning professional in 2002 to tread the path of success. His record is impressive with 33 professional wins - 24 by knockout - and only two defeats. Froch’s two most recent fights were against fellow Brit George Groves, with the first so controversial that Gracepoint the IBF ordered a rematch within 90 days. Froch was knocked down in the first round and three judges had Groves ahead on points before a series of powerful blows from Froch caused the referee to stop the fight in the ninth round, with Froch retaining his IBF and WBA world titles. The rematch was one of the hottest tickets in boxing history. Both men started in much more cagey fashion than the first fight, trying to outbox each other until the eighth round when Froch knocked Groves clean out with a blow described by commentator Mike Costello as ‘the best punch you will ever see in a British boxing ring’. Wednesday 15th April, 10pm Staunchly loyal to his home town, Froch is still a huge fan of Nottingham Forest and has held many of his fights in the city. Contributors include Carl’s partner Rachael Cordingley, coach Rob McCracken and former champion Barry McGuigan. The American remake of Broadchurch, also starring David Tennant and featuring two detectives investigating the murder of a boy in a tightly-knit coastal community, continues. In episode three, as Mark Solano (Michael Pena) is questioned by the police, Carver (David Tennant) and Ellie (Anna Gunn) want to know about the traces of blood found in his boat and how his fingerprints were found at the summer house near the crime scene. When Mark’s workmate Vince (Stephen Louis Grush) gives him an alibi, the police are not convinced and he is arrested for obstructing the investigation. Raymond (Adam Greydon Reid) approaches Beth (Virginia Kull), claiming to have received a message from beyond the grave. He tells her that Danny was killed by someone close to the family, in a boat. Tom Miller (Jack Irvine) is questioned by Carver and reveals that Mark once lashed out and struck Danny. More about Carver's illness is revealed, and Beth considers Paul's (Kevin Rankin) proposal for a memorial service.
