Our team is officially sanctioned by the Lakeville South High School and eligibility extends to all students who are in grades seven through twelve, who have their firearms safety certificate and who live in or attend school in ISD 194. We encourage both boys and girls to participate in the team. We participate as a team in the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League (MSHSCTL). The spring season runs from March to June, while the fall season runs from September to October. We shoot at the Minneapolis Gun Club and participate in the disciplines of trap and skeet shooting. Mission Statement Lakeville South Clay Target Team (“LSCTT”) has a mission of educating and training youth in grades seven through twelve, who have their firearm safety certificate, in the extra-curricular coeducational activity of shooting sports. LSCTT will provide education and training to those qualifying students that live within or attend school within ISD 194 for the purpose of providing opportunities to those student athletes so they understand and experience the safe handling of firearms while competing in socially acceptable shooting sports. Through this the organization strives to emphasize a co-educational, safe, ethical, respectful, chemical free, dignified, learning experience. Participation is a privilege, not a right. District 194 / School Weapons Policy All members of the LSCTT must strictly adhere to the District 194 Weapons Policy (Policy 501). The District’s Weapons Policy is as follows: No student or non-student, including adults and visitors, shall possess, use or distribute a weapon when in a school location except as provided in this policy. The school district will act to enforce this policy and to discipline or take appropriate action against any student, teacher, administrator, school employee, volunteer, or member of the public who violates this policy. Under no circumstances should a student athlete bring their equipment, which is defined as a shotgun, gun case, and/or ammunition (full or empty boxes or shell casings), to school in their vehicle, or plan to leave directly from school to go to the range. This would be a strict violation of the District’s Weapons Policy, for which you should expect to be punished to the fullest extent. © 2016 Lakeville South Clay Target Team !3 Lakeville South Clay Target Team Standards of Behavior / Code of Conduct Lakeville South High School and LSCTT believe participation in co-curricular activities is a privilege which is accompanied by student and parent responsibilities.
