FIRE AND ICE EVENTS SCHEDULE
The annual Fire and Ice Festival presented by Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance is back this year with
fun for all ages! This year marks the 31st Anniversary of the Holiday DeLight Parade, and organizers have
included some special features to celebrate the occasion. Look for large-scale balloons and special
costumes throughout the parade, and enjoy all the activities planned for the festival.
Junior League Vendor Fair
World Theatre, 314 Third Ave. SE • 1-5 p.m.
The Junior League of Cedar Rapids will host a holiday bazaar with local handmade items, as well as items from
your favorite direct sales companies. This will be a great place to pick up some holiday gifts, and proceeds
from this event will support Partnership for Safe Families, an organization dedicated to assisting families
involved in the foster care system.
Merry TubaChristmas
Cedar Rapids Public Library, 450 Fifth Ave. SE • 2-3 p.m.
Enjoy a very Merry Tuba Christmas at the Library as the melody of dozens of tubas fill the air with carols!
The Nutcracker
Paramount Theatre, 123 Third Ave. SE • 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Be carried away by Sugar Plum Fairies, captivated by the battle of the Mouse King and enchanted by the
journey of Clara and her Nutcracker prince. Led by guest conductor Dan Allcott and the magnificent dancing
of Ballet Quad Cities, this joyous classic will be sure to leave lasting memories for all. For tickets, visit

Waypoint Wonderland and Gift Drive
Waypoint, 318 Fifth St. SE • 3-6 p.m.
Stop by for the hot cocoa bar, tours, and create an ornament! Donate a new, unwrapped gift for the
homeless, those living in poverty, or victims of domestic violence.
Santa Meet & Greet
Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, 410 Third Ave. SE • 3:30-6 p.m.
Come meet Santa and snap a photo with the jolly legend himself!
“North Pole Park”
Greene Square Park, Fifth St. SE • 4-6 p.m.
Activities for families in and around Greene Square Park (dubbed “North Pole Park” for the day) will include
carriage rides, the Holiday Express train and a bonfire!

Cedar Rapids Public Library, 450 Fifth Ave. SE • 4-6 p.m.
Warm up, grab a drink at the cafe, and visit with princesses at the Princess Meet and Greet. Activities will
include face-painting, story time and craft, balloon animals, live music, and plenty of holiday spirit!
Theatre Cedar Rapids Happy Hour
Theatre Cedar Rapids, 102 Third St. SE • 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Enjoy some mingling and holiday cheer at TCR’s Linge Lounge! Drink specials include Shrek punch, cocoa, 2
for 1 on beer and wine and $2 off mixed drinks!
City Tree Lighting Ceremony
Greene Square Park, Fifth St. SE • 5:30 p.m.
An evergreen tree will sparkle in Greene Square Park for everyone to see through the holiday season. Join us
for a ceremony featuring guest speakers and the annual lighting.
31st Annual Holiday DeLight Parade
Downtown Route • 6-7 p.m.
The annual parade will feature community floats, walking groups and displays, including balloons and
costumes. Santa will even make an appearance with a few of his closest friends.
Ugly Sweater Party
Rock Bar & Grill, 219 Second Ave. SE • 7-10 p.m. (Contest at 8 p.m.) The Ugly Sweater Party will be
the place to bring out your best ugly holiday sweater. Compete in our contest, or just enjoy the food and
drinks specials. Admission to the party is free for this 21+ event and there is just a $5 entry fee to

Shrek The Musical
Theatre Cedar Rapids, 102 Third St. SE • 7:30 p.m.
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film, Shrek The Musical brings the hilarious story of everyone’s
favorite ogre to dazzling new life on the stage. Shrek The Musical is about an ogre named Shrek, who
lives alone in a swamp. When the evil Lord Farquaad decides to banish all of the Fairy Tale characters
from the Kingdom of Duloc, they ask Shrek to visit the evil Lord. Shrek agrees and meets Donkey on his

Mannheim Steamroller
