This initial lead off is the same for all our events: The Rotary Club of Windermere, of which you are a member, needs everyone’s involvement. This event will ask the same of you. If you have a special vocational skill set, or influence with beneficial contacts, the club needs you to step up. What started as a branding and marketing event and FUNraiser is being upgraded to include aspects of a FUNDraiser. WE are looking for a net of $12,000.00. We have the time to do a necessary bang up job, but we have to start now. We need a few individuals to take the responsibility to coordinate critical aspects. This is what we have so far: Chair / Co- Chair / Co-Co Chair Oversee all aspects, coordinate with Town of Windermere, handle permits and services. Stephen Fasen and Stephen Withers Need: Co-Co Chair (Dana?) BBQ/Food Acquire & Coordinate vendors. Determine Fees, registrations, competition/ etc. Pat Woodham & Rob Nelson Beer / Beverages Find, identify and negotiate (donations) with craft beer vendors. Craig and Kathy Lopus will handle wine. Coordinator Needed / This is a big job. Don’t sign up lightly. Setup / lighting Pick up and coordinate setup of tents/chairs. Make sure adequate lighting is in place. Help with tear down and return tents to storage. Coordinator Needed (Dominic?) 4 Clean up Coordinate and assist with setup, oversee garbage handling during the event, help with tear down. Make sure garbage is secured and disposed of, all bathrooms/town property cleaned and secured. Coordinator: Darrell Gardner Advertising Oversee all advertising and marketing including: Banners, flyers, Newspapers, Rotary notification, community calendars. Maybe acquire Rotary BBQ shirts to identify our members and get them out early. Coordinate with sponsorship to integrate sponsors. Coordinator Needed (Has to work with Fasen…sorry) Entertainment Identify and acquire at least two groups to perform. Creatively include local school talent/assets. Look to develop creative options for town hall (children’s movie perhaps?) Coordinator Needed Theme and decorations Reinforce the Memorial Day theme with color and symbols. Work with Entertainment to flesh out the event with Service and Military personnel, recognition, presentations, presence. Coordinator Needed Sponsorship Creatively identify and acquire financial sponsors. Integrate closely with advertising. Coordinators: Darrell Gardner & Carl Sandberg Rotary Involve in a relative and functional way: Interact, District, regional clubs, and related groups such as boy scouts. Get Rotary tent and info included. Coordinator: Gary Atwill If we do this together we will do this right. If we do this right it is a next generation event for our club. It is a win win for us and the town. Let’s do this. It begins NOW.
