A message from our President
This week we will
have a Club
Assembly during
our meeting. This
will be a state of
the club. During
the Assembly you
will hear reports
on the activities,
donations and
work of
Windermere
Rotary.

This is a good
reminder of the
different
opportunities that
you have to become
more active and
possibly join a
committee that you
haven’t been part of
before. Please share
some of these
happenings with
your friends who
might want to join
our club.
NOTE:
Wednesday night,
March 5th, there will
be a Fireside Chat
at the Atwill’s.
Please let me know
if you need
directions.

Here WE go, here WE go!
This initial lead off is the same for all our events: The Rotary Club of Windermere, of which you are a
member, needs everyone’s involvement. This event will ask the same of you. If you have a special vocational
skill set, or influence with beneficial contacts, the club needs you to step up.
What started as a branding and marketing event and FUNraiser is being upgraded to include aspects of a
FUNDraiser. WE are looking for a net of $12,000.00. We have the time to do a necessary bang up job, but we
have to start now. We need a few individuals to take the responsibility to coordinate critical aspects. This is
what we have so far:
Chair / Co- Chair / Co-Co Chair
Oversee all aspects, coordinate with Town of Windermere, handle permits and services.
Stephen Fasen and Stephen Withers

Need: Co-Co Chair (Dana?)
BBQ/Food
Acquire & Coordinate vendors. Determine Fees, registrations, competition/ etc.
Pat Woodham & Rob Nelson
Beer / Beverages
Find, identify and negotiate (donations) with craft beer vendors. Craig and Kathy Lopus will handle wine.
Coordinator Needed /
This is a big job. Don’t sign up lightly.
Setup / lighting
Pick up and coordinate setup of tents/chairs. Make sure adequate lighting is in place.
Help with tear down and return tents to storage.
Coordinator Needed (Dominic?)
4
Clean up
Coordinate and assist with setup, oversee garbage handling during the event, help with tear down. Make sure
garbage is secured and disposed of, all bathrooms/town property cleaned and secured.
Coordinator: Darrell Gardner
Advertising
Oversee all advertising and marketing including: Banners, flyers, Newspapers, Rotary notification,
community calendars. Maybe acquire Rotary BBQ shirts to identify our members and get them out early.
Coordinate with sponsorship to integrate sponsors.
Coordinator Needed (Has to work with Fasen…sorry)
Entertainment
Identify and acquire at least two groups to perform. Creatively include local school talent/assets. Look to
develop creative options for town hall (children’s movie perhaps?)
Coordinator Needed
Theme and decorations
Reinforce the Memorial Day theme with color and symbols. Work with Entertainment to flesh out the event
with Service and Military personnel, recognition, presentations, presence.
Coordinator Needed
Sponsorship
Creatively identify and acquire financial sponsors. Integrate closely with advertising.
Coordinators: Darrell Gardner & Carl Sandberg
Rotary
Involve in a relative and functional way: Interact, District, regional clubs, and related groups such as boy
scouts. Get Rotary tent and info included.
Coordinator: Gary Atwill
If we do this together we will do this right. If we do this right it is a next generation event for our club. It is a
win win for us and the town. Let’s do this.
It begins NOW. Meetings will be held every Monday evening
6:00 PM at Red Eye Bar and Grill to start.
