Arts and Crafts Spotlight
Kaylyn Mashlan
started painting with her
grandmother as a child and
has continued to paint ever
since. Kaylyn majored in art
with a minor in education
and has been teaching a
variety of classes at Tinker
Arts & Crafts for 14 years.
When developing a
painting for Cork & Canvas,
Kaylyn thinks about what
students want to paint.
Using that as her inspiration,
she creates beautiful
paintings that she teaches step-by-step.
“Two glasses of wine are included in
the fee,” Kaylyn said, “and we carry
Moscato!”
Each month the class offers a new
painting that Kaylyn creates to include
new techniques. Students will laugh,
enjoy wine, and learn new skills in Cork
& Canvas.
Cookies & Canvas is the same
concept, but for children 5 – 15 years
old. “We have cookies and milk,” Kaylyn
describes the children’s class, “it is so
much fun to fill the studio with kids.”
