Arts and Crafts Spotlight Kaylyn Mashlan started painting with her grandmother as a child and has continued to paint ever since. Kaylyn majored in art with a minor in education and has been teaching a variety of classes at Tinker Arts & Crafts for 14 years. When developing a painting for Cork & Canvas, Kaylyn thinks about what students want to paint. Using that as her inspiration, she creates beautiful paintings that she teaches step-by-step. “Two glasses of wine are included in the fee,” Kaylyn said, “and we carry Moscato!” Each month the class offers a new painting that Kaylyn creates to include new techniques. Students will laugh, enjoy wine, and learn new skills in Cork & Canvas. Cookies & Canvas is the same concept, but for children 5 – 15 years old. “We have cookies and milk,” Kaylyn describes the children’s class, “it is so much fun to fill the studio with kids.” CLASSES Beginning Sewing 12 – 2 p.m., Oct. 7 & 21 $25 Cherokee Double Walled Western Oklahoma Basket Making 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Oct. 10 $75 Mesh Wreath 4 – 6 p.m., Oct. 13 $50 Etching on Copper 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., Oct. 14 & 28 $45 Cork & Canvas 6 – 9 p.m., Oct. 16 $40 Eastern Cherokee Splint (Twill) Basket Making 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Oct. 24 $75 Two Day Basket Making Classes Classes arranged with instructor, available 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. or 2 – 6 p.m., Tuesday – Friday $75 6 | www.tinkerliving.com No Federal Endorsement of Any Sponsor(s) Intended Students 10 and under will need a parent to attend the class with them.
