Emerald Championships Rules 2016
1. The decision of the adjudicator or adjudicators is final. Objections may be lodged in
advance of the results by a teacher in writing together with a fee of £7.00.
2. Age: Where there is an age limit for any competition, a competitor’s age shall be taken as
that which he/she had reached on or before 1st January of the year which the competition is
held.
3. There must be silence in the hall during the performance of each completion.
4. Beginners A Confined to competitors who have never won a 1st place in that dance in
that grade at any age.
5. Beginners B: Confined to competitors who have never won a 1st place in that dance in
that grade at any age.
6. Pre-Open: Confined to competitors who have never won a 1st place in that particular age
group.
7. Open – Open to all competitors, Dancers may not dance out of their age group
8. ** Non Cup Holders - Confined to competitors whose teachers are registered with the
Southern England Region, London & London & home Counties Branches and who have
never won a Non Cup holder, Non Championship Holder, NCH, Confined Trophy or
Championship or open Championship under 1 or 3 adjudicators with one or two dances.
9. Dancers must dance in at least 1 open solo competitions to be eligible to compete in the
Championship.
10. Dancers must be in full costume, including shoes for presentation of prizes.
11. Children up to and including the age of 12 are prohibited from wearing face make-up
12. There is to be no changing of costumes in the competition halls.
13. All Dancers are prohibted from wearing any form of Glitter on their face.
14. No Smoking or Alcohol are permitted anywhere on the School Premises.
15. Mobile phones must be turned off whilst in the competition halls.
16. Dancers up to and including under 9 are not permitted to wear solo costumes.
17. Videoing, flash photography, photography & camera phones may not be used whilst
competitions are in progress. They may be used during prize giving.

LATE ENTRIES ONLY ACCEPTED IF CONVENIENT TO THE FEIS ORGANISER ANY LATE ENTRIES MUST BE
ACCOMPANIED BY A LATE ENTRY FEE OF £20.00. THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE
