New Website Release Nov 22 2012 FINAL
United Way Central & Northern Vancouver Island Launches New Website Site Design and Hosting Donated by NISA Nanaimo, BC – November 22, 2012 – The United Way Central & Northern Vancouver Island (UWCNVI) is pleased to announce they have launched a new website. The site features stories and photos from the three communities that United Way serves, Central Island, the Comox Valley and Campbell River. Nanaimo’s longest running web development company, NISA, donated the site’s design and hosting. The new site (www.uwcnvi.ca) will better serve donors looking for information on how their donation is making a difference, how to get involved with United Way as well as provide information to charities wanting to apply for funds. Don Bonner, owner of NISA has been involved with the United Way for over six years and is current board president. He was keen to see a new site developed that showcased the amazing work the United Way does in the community. “Creating an online presence for United Way is critical to generating funds as well as showcasing the impact of United Way funded programs,” said Bonner. “One way I wanted to give back was through donating my time and my talents to develop this new website.” UWCNVI’s fundraising campaign, Change starts here, aims to raise funds for critically needed programs in the Central Island, the Comox Valley and Campbell River. Donations will fund 50 charities into 2013. There are many ways to give to UWCNVI. Call the office at 250-‐729-‐7400 or email [email protected] or give online at www.uwcnvi.ca. About UWCNVI Since 1958, United Way CNVI has invested in programs and services that help people to improve their lives and that strengthen our community. Because of the generosity of donors and volunteers, UWCNVI was able to make grants in 2012 to 44 charities supporting 50 programs for children, youth and seniors in Central Island, the Comox Valley and Campbell River. UWCNVI also manages the Success by 6 early childhood development programs throughout the Central and Northern Island and plays a part in working to reduce homelessness by being the Community Entity for Nanaimo’s Homelessness Strategy. UWCNVI will soon be working to launch the new Better at Home program to help keep seniors living at home in Parksville. -‐30-‐ For additional information or to arrange an interview please contact: Erin O’Reilly 313 Public Relations on behalf UWCNVI [email protected] United Way Central & Northern Vancouver Island Change starts here Central Island: 3156 Barons Road Nanaimo, BC V9T 4B5 |250 729 7400 Comox Valley : PO Box 3097 Courtenay, BC V9N 5N5 |250 338 1151 Campbell River : PO Box 135 Campbell River, BC V9W 5A7 |250 287 3213 www.uwcnvi.ca Don Bonner with new website.
