Replacing Your High Bays: It’s Not [Just] About the Lumens
Typical high bay luminaires use metal halide or high pressure sodium technology, with is omnidirectional. Most of the output misses the target
area and instead gets lost within the high bay fixture. These lumens are considered to be wasted. LEDs are directional. All the output is transmitted towards the target area, with little to no light loss within the high bay fixture. As a result of this difference, a lumens-for-lumens match
between an LED and a metal halide lamp is only partially relevant.
That’s what makes our LED down light even more efficient. It doesn’t waste lumens where it is unnecessary.

What’s Inside? An Overview
The Cree XM-L LED: Delivering the market’s highest efficacy at very
high drive currents, the XM-L is the best performing chip for high-lumen
applications. It is the latest chip utilizing Cree’s SC³ silicon carbide-based
technology. Previous LED replacements used several hundred chips to replicate the light output of metal halide lamps. The XM-L is so efficient, we are
able to use a small fraction of that amount to bring you this cost effective,
streamlined solution.”
Thomas Driver: Bearing the industry’s most trusted name in solid state
power supplies, the Thomas driver inside each Andromeda features protection against over-current, over-temperature, over-voltage, and short circuits.
The Andromeda is driven below capacity as an added precaution against
electrical overstress
Machined Heat Sink: The only high bay body of its kind on the
market. Our exclusive in-house design is machined from high quality 6061
aluminum - not the silicon-injected aluminum one finds in competitors’
LED high bays. This leading edge construction distributes heat more evenly,
prolonging the lifespan of the LEDs.
Advanced Optics: An optic sits on top of the LED chip to distribute
the light. The Bubble optic produces a round distribution of light, ideal for
illuminating open spaces such as a large retail store. The Ledil optic produces
an oval-shaped distribution of light, ideal for illuminating tight spaces such as
warehouse aisles.
