Young Marines during Drug Awareness Seminar
Past Exalted Ruler George “Pete” Decatur and Esquire Robert
Ninow spoke with the Young Marines on April 9, 2011 on the
abstinence of drugs. Pete showed a video by Milton Creagh “Bigg
Milt” illustrating the effects of using drugs—alcohol, crack, cocaine,
etc.
The group really enjoyed this video as it was a “rock/rap”
rendition. In addition, the Young Marines, ages 8-18, had a chance
to experience the effects of being intoxicated via the special glasses
which Pete provided. Pete summed up the meeting with the story of
the starfish – one person can make a difference – do the best you
can – opportunity is there – you are what you want to be – Future
Leaders.
