CORPORATE COMMUNION -April 29
This is another great chance for Knights and their family to get together! All Knights, wives, family and friends are
encouraged, invited, and hereby just plain asked to attend our special Mass, followed by our special
breakfasUspeaker program event.
Mass: All SK Brothers, are asked to dress in your Full or Social Regalia and will be the Honor Guard for the rest of our
Knights and wives. All should gather at the back of the Church and then proceed into Mass and sit together.
After Mass, it's off to breakfast with our speaker program at - The Incredible Pizza. (They are again opening up and
serving breakfast for just for this event.) They provide very nice, quiet, private rooms and a great buffet breakfast (not
pizza). Cost will be less than $6.00 including tax, $5.40 (geezers), and $5.94 (non-geezers). The Incredible Pizza is
located at: 230 S. Loop 336 W., Conroe, TX 77304, Phone: (936) 441-2222.
Our Speaker will be our 8th District Congressman Kevin Brady (R-TX). He will be sharing with us about
all that is going on politically in Washington that he is part of and privy to. These things affect our lives: i.e. our taxes,
healthcare, and our Catholic Church's possible loss of our guaranteed freedom, that is guaranteed under our Bill of
Rights. Any of these topics alone should be enough to have you attend, plus we will have a Q & A session. So ... _.
mark your calendars and make a very special effort to attend for these three reasons alone:
a} It's our time to be exposed to our parish, and have family fellowship.
b} Our need to support Incredible Pizza, because they are again opening for
breakfast - just for us (with two serving lines this time)!!
c} Support and show our appreciation to Congressman
Brady for getting up early on
Sunday - his day off. (Please be respectful with your questions and comments.)
Let me know if you will be attending breakfast, by email or call my cell, so we can give The Incredible Pizza a good
head count for our food requirements,

SACRED HEART WORKDAY ASSISTANCE - March 3rd
The request was sent out to ask for help, on behalf of Brother SK Philip Wilhite. Brother Dan Gregory and Diane
Cabiness were his 'contractors'. Eight Brothers (Tony Aguilar, Sam Morgan, Henry Daniels, Woody Sonnier,
Bob Cabiness, Malcolm Paulk, Dave Fick, and Dan Gregory), the Boy Scouts, and several parish families heeded that
call - approximately 30 people worked very hard. The work was hard but rewarding to see the results afterwards!
They came out to make several new gardens, new garden paths and cleanup the grounds. The Knights of Columbus
fixed lunch for all the parishioners of all ages, Knights, and Fr. Philip.

CONROE KNIGHTS
OF COLUMBUS
HOME ASSOCIATION
NEWS:
If you haven't been by lately, come take a look at the hall. The hall has undergone
some nice changes! The outside and inside have been freshly painted. The front
of the hall has been cleaned up. The flower beds have been redone, plus irrigation.
The Ten Commandments Monument has been moved to the front by the flag pole
and benches have been installed. The flag now fly's 24 hours a day, with night
lighting. Other not so obvious, but needed work has included repairs to the water
faucets, and well house - adding a new interior closet for storage, etc. The work
was done under the direct and volunteer supervision of Brother Dan Gregory, at
great savings to the Home Association.
The hall has more work to be done, including landscape planting, mulching,
and some drainage, etc. This is all to provide a nice home for the Knights, and an
attractive place for increased outside rentals that pay for the halls existence.
THANKS DAN!!!
DISCOUNT TIRE HELPS YOUNG FAMILY
Recently several members of our council decided to assist a single mom who
recently lost her job. She has a 2112year old and was trying to job search in a car
with threadbare tires. Discount Tire, located next to Denny's on 1-45 North at 2245
Stone Side in Conroe, stepped forward and supplied this young mother with a
complete set of tires. In appreciation the Knights of Council #6456 provided the
manager, Tommy Miller, and the staff with a letter of support and refreshments.
Conroe Discount Tire has shown that they are caring members of our community.
The tires they provided will help this young mother safely search for future
employment. We appreciate Discount Tire for their charity and hope that you will
reward them for their charitable efforts by considering them the next time you need
tires or tire service.
Marvin Degeyter presents a letter of thanks to Tommy Miller, manager, of Discount Tire

Fraternal Year 2012 - 2013 Officer Nominations
This years Officer Nomination for Fraternal Year 2012 - 2013 will take place at the April
General Meeting on April 12th. The voting will take place at May's General Meeting.
Officer positions & duties are as follows:
Grand Knight
The Grand Knight is responsible for the welfare of the council. He presides over council meetings, acts
as an ex-officio member of all committees, appoints a membership and programming director, convenes
officers for a monthly meeting, and ensures all necessary reports are submitted to the state and Supreme
Council. He should also be aware of the council's financial status and ensure that his signature appears
on all checks drawn.
Deputy Grand Knight
The Deputy Grand Knight is second in command. He assists the Grand Knight with council affairs and
fulfills all duties assigned to him by the Grand Knight. Should the Grand Knight be absent from a
council meeting, the Deputy Grand Knight will preside. He is Chairman of the council's Retention
Committee.
Chancellor
The Chancellor has a variety of responsibilities. Primarily, he assists the Grand Knight and the Deputy
Grand Knight in the execution of their duties and oversees the council in both their absences. He is
charged with strengthening the members' interests in council activities. The Chancellor is Chairman of
the Admission Committee.
Recorder
The Recorder is similar to a court reporter or a secretary. He is responsible for maintaining a true record
of all actions of the council and it's correspondence.
Treasurer
The Treasurer is responsible for the safekeeping, and maintaining records of all council funds and
accounts. He is responsible for depositing money into the council's accounts and provides a certificate
of such monies to the Grand Knight. He is also responsible for payment of all expenses.
Advocate
The Advocate is the legal representative of the council and serves as the council's attorney at trials and
investigations of any interest to the council. While he does not need to be a member of the legal
profession, he should be familiar with the Council By-Laws, the Order's Charter, Constitution and Laws
, Methods of Conducting a Council Meeting, and Robert's Rules of Order.
Warden
The Warden is the 'watchdog' for council property and degree paraphernalia, except the property of the
Financial Secretary, Treasurer, and Recorder. He is also responsible for setting up the council chambers
for meetings and ceremonial work. During ceremonial exemplifications, he will appoint and supervise
guards.
Inside
&
Outside Guards
The Guards have similar responsibilities, but distinct differences. The outside guard tends to the outer
door admitting visitors and members to the inner door. Once at the inner door, the inside guard checks
to make sure that their membership cards are current.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees consists of three members elected by the council and the Grand Knight, who
serves as Chairman of the Board. They oversee the work of the Financial Secretary and Treasurer, and
with the Deputy Grand Knight serve on the council's Retention Committee. During council elections,
only the Three-Year Trustee is voted on, with the others moving on to become Two and One- Year
Trustees, respectively.
