As we begin a New Year, we must realize how time goes by quickly. Our time on earth is
very brief, so let’s not waste a moment of it. Thank God for every day He has given us. No
matter what your trials and tribulations may be, look around and say “Thank you God, for
I’m truly blessed”.
Thank you to Don and Dee Darcy and their friends for another great New Year’s Eve
party. It’s evident that you put a lot of work and effort into this event so that we were
ensured a beautiful evening. Having the Honor Guard greet and escort the guests to their
table really added a touch of class. Thank you to the workers who gave up their time so that
guests could try their luck at the Casino games.
To Chef Dave, Jeff, Ray, Colin and the kitchen staff who were responsible for our gourmet
meal. Gloria and I, as well as the other guests, were impressed by the manner in which the
waitressing staff, under Sue’s supervision, served us.
The Knights of Columbus Basketball toss was a success due to the efforts of Ron Graczyk,
Tom Lacaprucia, Mel Antuna, and Jesu Urbano. Thank you to score keepers Richard Fulton,
F.N., and his wife Barbara, and Mark Urban. The children enjoyed themselves as did the
adults in attendance.
Come join us for the Valentine’s Dance on Saturday, February 12th. It will be a great
evening of fine food, dancing and socializing.
The Friday Night suppers are back. Where can you go for an inexpensive meal and enjoy
time with family and friends - The Lounge at the Knight of Columbus.
There are two Council Meetings per month (2nd and 4th Monday) starting at 7:30 p.m. Come
early and enjoy a meal before the meeting. Please try to attend at least one so that you can
stay informed.
By attending the numerous wakes this past month you showed how much Council 4044
really cares about its members.

Dear Sir Knights.
Due to the cancellation of our January meeting, we were
unable to increase the responses to our upcoming
4th Degree Communion Breakfast. The Mass will be
held at Holy Cross Church in Holyoke, Sunday,
February 6th at 8:30 a.m.; breakfast to follow at St.
Patrick’s Social Center, South Hadley. To date, the
responses are not at all what I expected. This invitation
is also extended to any 3rd Degree member who intends
on becoming a 4th Degree Knight. If you would like to
join us in honoring our deceased members, please call
me at 533-9312.
Pursuant to our decision to aid the Veterans at the
Holyoke Soldiers Home, 5 members of the 4th Degree
met with the Recreation Director and we agreed to host
Bingo for the residents on Tuesday, February 8th at 1:00
p.m. Sir Knight Richard Beaudry, a veteran, agreed to
chair the committee. Chef Dave will prepare the
pastries for the social that will take place before the
Bingo. We will be posting a wish list for the Veterans
in the Bingo foyer and in the Lounge. Both areas will
have collection boxes. Please remember the personal
care items must be new and sealed. Fourth Degree
Knights are devoted to Patriotism. What better way to
express our objective than by honoring the men and
women who have given so much for our country.
To all 3rd Degree members, I urge you to seriously
consider joining the 4th Degree and help us achieve our
commitment to patriotism.
