As Jesus said to St Mary Margaret Alacoque: “This is the heart that has so much loved mankind, to be broken open by a lance so that all people may find refuge in this heart.” The feast of the Most Sacred Heart Of Jesus is June 15th. The month of June is designated because every day, a special prayer, and sacrifice, should be made for the conversion of sinners, and to bring back home the fallen-away Catholic. Smile, God loves you and so does Fr Fausto, Father Fausto Stampiglia, Chaplain Columbus Association of Sarasota Inc. Notice of Annual Meeting The annual mandatory meeting of the Columbus Association will be held immediately following the regular business meeting of the Knights of Columbus on Thursday July 5th 2012. If you are a member of Knights of Columbus Council #3358 you are also a member of the Columbus Association of Sarasota. You must be a member of Council #3358 to attend this meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to elect three, three year director positions and one special election for a two year director term. During this meeting we will conduct all other such business that may come before the membership. We Need Your Help Is there something that you enjoy doing that may be of help to the Columbus Association? From time to time we need help. Whether it is setting up, or taking down chairs and tables for an event, or researching something that we have questions about. Occasionally we could use help with general repairs, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall repair, painting, and decorating. Do you have a truck that you could help us haul something? Occasionally we may need to call on you for a project. We are trying to set up a list of people that we can count on when we need help. Please let us know how you can help us, email [email protected] , send a letter to the Hall at 4880 Fruitville Rd Sarasota FL 34232, call Columbus Association President Chris Dibert (941) 302-0511, or sign up in the lounge on the bulletin board. If you are interested in taking a more active role in the Columbus Association, please contact Chris Dibert during the month of June. Special thanks to Mike Thoma, Manager of Bright Sky in Sarasota. He gave us an incredible deal on a 60” flat screen TV for our lounge. He volunteered his time and supplies to help install this TV. We are all looking forward to football season! Knightly News Grand Knight’s Report for June 2012 My brother knights: My term as Grand Knight is coming to a close. I only hope that I was able to complete some of the goals we had set for our council for the year 2011-2012. As you are aware, there were times when we were thinking about selling the building and moving over to St. Martha’s for our meetings. It was a trying time in our council affairs which we pulled through with flying colors. In the month of June, there will be elections of officers for the next fraternal year at which time I respectfully request that we participate in the attendance and the elections, this is a crucial part of the next incoming Grand Knight. I have been blessed with your support since my return as Grand Knight for which I am deeply grateful. It has been a pleasure for me to say you, as members of 3358, and you came to rescue and we forged ahead. There are so many members who came and joined in the battle to save what we thought we deserved and should continue to keep in the family as good and honest members of Our Lady of Victory Council 3358. I might mention also that we were granted a new District Deputy who took the bull by the horns and helped to eliminate what had been placed upon us and tied our hands where we were not able to function as a honorable council from the State of Florida. This in itself was a great relief to all concerned. My hat goes off to DD Tom Anzelone for all his cooperation over the last few months. For the new officers who are elected, I believe that we are now ready to carry on the tradition and to support them as much as possible. As a Past Grand Knight, I promise to give all I can, as I did as Grand Knight to support whatever we have scheduled in the future. This, I believe should be the attitude from all the members. My term as Grand Knight was not always pleasant however, when I called out, you were there and that was very important to me at the time. I want to say, God bless each and everyone of you for your kindness, your support, your willingness to work and most of all, your friendship over the last year. Remember one thing, the place where we meet is our home and that council 3358 will always be in that building which serves as not only our meeting place but all the functions that we plan for the year are carried out there as well. Stay focused on all the events that are planned and try to attend each and every one of them so we can be a proud and happy family of knights here in Sarasota.
