Equipment Room Instructional Outline How to Convert H.264 (.mov) DSLR Footage to Apple PRORES 422 (.mov) for Final Cut Editing Step 1: On your external hard drive, create two folders in the destination you want to save your footage, label one “RAW,” and the other “PRORES.” RAW PRORES Step 2: Insert the Cameraʼs SD or Compact Flash card into your computer using a USB cable, or through a card reader. Select the EOS Digital icon on your desktop>DCIM folder> then click the next folder. For example, if you shot on a 7D, it will show up as “100EOS7D,” or, if you shot on a T2i, it will show up as “100CANON.” EOS DIGITAL DCIM 100EOS7D Step 3: Inside the folder, youʼll want to transfer all of the H.264 (.mov) files from the card into the RAW folder you created in Step 1. At the top Finder bar, select List>Batch List Step 6: Select the “Add Files” button. Select the folder youʼve created that contains the RAW content, then select all the files you wish to convert, and select “To Batch.” RAW Step 7: Next, Select “Export to Quicktime,” Press OK. Step 8: Choose a destination folder. Select the PRORES folder you made in Step 1, select the “Select” button. PRORES http://operationalportal.com | [email protected] | 407-823-2138 | NSC-157 Equipment Room Instructional Outline Step 9: The MPEG Streamclip - Movie Exporter Box will open, the settings should look like this: Compression at ProRes 422 Drag slider to 100% Sound Uncompressed* *If you plan on syncing picture with separately recorded Uncheck box for interlaced scaling Frame Size 1920 x 1080 (unscaled) Step 10: Select the “To Batch” Button.
