2015 Beach Trip- Okaloosa Island - The Multi
2015 Beach Island Trip- Okaloosa We went to the beach last week! We had an amazing time too! This trip we spent at Okaloosa Island, right outside of Destin and it was gorgeous. It wasn’t that packed either. Or not as packed as Destin was so it was nice! Matt and I left for Biloxi the morning after the twins birthday party while my mom and dad stayed with the babies! Ill blog more about our trip soon! We met all of the babies and MooMoo and pops at the beach on Tuesday! I know it was only two days but when you have three littles like we do, they keep you constantly running so when you’re away from them you’re lost. I felt lost but it was really nice to miss them and let them miss us. We started beaching it almost immediately. I love the beach but I hate the sand so there is a little dilemma there. The only thing that really bothers me is it comes home with you. You cant get it out of your drinks, snacks or other hidden private places. But I embraced the five year old inside me and got down in the sand and played and built sand castles! Miss Maddie Rae would stay in the sand all.day.long. Not even kidding. She loved it. She would sit there and put it all over her, play with it and even try to eat it hah. I guess if you’re having that much fun with it why not give it a taste, right? The funny thing is when we first got there she kept telling us “Look mommy and daddy! Its snow!” Shows you how long its been since we have been to the beach! Jocelynn loved it too! She would rather be at the pool but she didn’t mind it. Now JP? He was a nightmare on the beach. That poor baby hated the sand, the bright sun and the salty water. His eyes are so sensitive. He has been this way since he was 6 months old with the beach. We would stay out there as long as they could handle it and when they were done we went to the pool the rest of the day. We purchased puddle jumpers for all of the babies a few weeks ago. Mainly Maddie because she will jump in a pool without anyone being there! Well, I never thought that these things would give my children so much confidence they would want to try and swim without it. After Jocelynn practiced going under, holding her breath and swimming for a full day, she decided she wanted to try and swim without her puddle jumper!! Guess what? She can!! These things are amazing to give one of my little scaredy cats (who’s not so scared anymore) the confidence to try that! I have videos I plan to post to show all of you if you don’t follow me on IG @Vanzantfamily1. Even Maddie is amazing at swimming now. She will put her little head under and while her feet go up she starts kicking and swimming It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I take her puddle jumper off every now and then but she’s so fast I like to leave it on if theres only me or another adult around. Her name must mean sneaky or fast. She is both of those things. After a couple of pool and beach days we took a pontoon out on the Bay on Thursday! We got up early and packed sandwiches, snacks, drinks and more. We got to the rental place around 8:30am but couldn’t leave until 9:30am. It was raining so hard and thundering. I just knew we wouldn’t be able to go out but our luck changed. The sun came out and it was beautiful from the time we got on the boat until we departed. Our first stop was a little sand bar we found to try and catch some hermit crabs! I think we ended up with around 5 of them! We stopped and made a few casts and caught pin fish! These fish fins are sharper than bream but my babies didn’t mind. They just wanted to hold them so we let it happen. JP even held one and that’s huge!! They got finned a couple of times but it didn’t bother these little fisher girls and boy at all. We made a pit stop at crab island. You wouldn’t believe me if I told you the water was cold. Like very cold. Not at all what the ocean usually feels like in July. I couldn’t even get in. Jocelynn didn’t seem to mind. She got in with Pops and daddy and even swam for a little while. My baby girl stayed in the boat with me and Moomoo and danced for us. She does this precious little dance and she says “I wag my wings like pickle” it looks exactly like the chicken dance. This girl makes my day every day. Maddie thinks pops is the funniest person on this planet. I don’t blame her. he is pretty awesome. That baby girl is always smiling and laughing when she’s with her grand parents!! I am going to have to spread our beach trip out in a few different posts. I know, I know.. How boring right? Well, I just love sharing pictures of my family and don’t want to put them all in one post. It takes 70 freaking hours just to upload this many to blogger. Hopefully switching to word press soon will help that situation!
