Service Times Sunday: Bible Study: 9:00 AM Worship Service: 10:00 AM Evening Service: 5:00 PM Wednesday: Bible Study 7:00 PM 801 E. John Sims Parkway, Niceville, FL 32578 www.nicevillechurchofchrist.org (850) 678-2911 August 21st, 2016 A Place to Belong……………..A Place to Become…………..A Place to Call Home……. Are You a Picture of Jesus? On a wall near the main entrance to the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas, is a portrait with the following inscription: "James Butler Bonham--no picture of him exists. This portrait is of his nephew, Major James Bonham, deceased, who greatly resembled his uncle. It is placed here by the family that people may know the appearance of the man who died for freedom." No picture of our savior exists. No one will ever see the face of Jesus until he returns. To this day his image is intended to be seen in the appearance of every Christian. The name we wear, Christian, means “Christ Like.” WE ARE CALLED TO BE LIKE MINDED - “Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:1–4 NKJV) WE ARE TO BE LIKE HIM IN ACTION - “By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.” (1 John 2:5 –6 NKJV) WE ARE TO BE LIKE HIM IN SERVICE TO OTHERS - “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.” (John 13:14–16 NKJV) WE ARE TO BE LIKE HIM IN LOVE - Jesus was the most loving man to ever live. He paid the ultimate sacrifice, giving his life. He gave it willingly. Jesus calls us to be loving people. He said, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”” (John 13:34–35 NKJV) Joe Palmer GULF BREEZE LADIES DAY The Gulf Breeze Church of Christ will be having their ladies day on Saturday, September 10th from 9:30-12 with lunch provided.
