Resort Information
Getting there
La Tzoumaz is part of the huge Verbier Ski area and
has a range of skiing to suit all abilities. There are over
410km of prepared ski pistes for you to rocket down and
for the more daring there is some of the best off-piste
skiing in the world.
Access is extremely easy making this a good weekend
destination. Veysonnaz is just 1 hour 45 minutes from
Geneva and it is motorway all the way until the last 15
minutes’ drive up from Sion.
The village is at 1500m with dramatic views over the
stunning Rhone Valley. There is a hotel in the village and
a choice of restaurants and bars where you can relax
after a long days skiing. There are also sports shops if
your need to stock up on equipment.
La Tzoumaz is only one ski lift away from Verbier so you
can take the new télécabine out of La Tzoumaz up to
2350m and ski down into the centre of Verbier. If the
weather is poor you can enjoy a good lunch in Verbier
and look around the shops. In the summer the road over
this Col is open so you can drive over to Verbier in twenty
minutes.
There are also flights from the UK directly to Sion airport
in the winter making this the fastest transfer time in the
Alps.

garage, ski room and technical room in a separate chalet
style building above. To be built to a high standard the
buyer will be able to make their personal choices for the
kitchen, bathrooms, tiles, flooring and all the finishes for
the chalet.

requirements but the chalet will have 5 bedrooms, 4
bath/shower rooms, sauna, ski room, double garage,
outside parking places for 3 cars and a large terrace for

Location
The chalet is ski in, ski out and is in the perfect location;
virtually on the ski slopes and just ten minutes walk to
the centre of the resort. The Schaferstube, one of the
best restaurants in the resort is 100m away. There are
good views to the South to the glaciers and to the East
over the village.
To be built on a plot of 914m2 at the end of the main
street of La Tzoumaz just ten minutes walk to restaurants,
bars, ski shops and everything you need. Near the free
shuttle bus stop and about 400m from the ski lift. Good

Winter

La Tzoumaz is only one ski lift away from Verbier; take
the new télécabine and ski down into the centre of
Verbier so if you do not feel like putting in a full days
skiing it is easy to ski over and indulge yourself in some
shopping and a good long lunch. The local slopes go
up to Savoleyres at 2350m and offer a choice of blue
and red run descents so are good for beginners and
intermediates. After skiing have some fun on one of
the longest toboggans in Switzerland with a challenging
10km descent down into the village.
Take the lift up to 2350m and enjoy the largest ski area in
Switzerland. With over 410km of pistes and up to 3330m
you have a wonderful ski terrain on your doorstep and if
you buy the Valais ski card you could ski in Crans Montana
or Zermatt if you fancy a change of scenery. The Valais
pass gives you the access to the world’s largest ski area
available on a single lift pass.
La Tzoumaz gives easy access to the entire Verbier ski
area with over 410km of prepared pistes and some of
the best off-piste terrain in the world. After skiing there
are a couple of friendly bars and you can enjoy a very
good dinner at the newly refurbished and charming
restaurant, Les Fougers. It is also easy to drive down to
Sion just 20 minutes away and enjoy dinner in one of the
restaurants and entertainment.

Summer
Golf
La Tzoumaz is situated on the Bisse du Saxon, part of
a 19th Century irrigation system that offers 100 km of
gently inclined paths suitable for walking and mountain
biking. There are also opportunities for more challenging
tours in the high mountains. La Tzoumaz has a tennis
court and a heated indoor swimming pool in the village.
There is good fishing and paragliding and climbing for
the more adventurous.
There are several golf courses in the region including
a good 18 hole course in Sion, just 20 minutes away.
Crans Montana boasts two splendid courses. The Golf
Club Crans-sur-Sierre was established in 1906 and
the Severiano Ballesteros course is the home of the
prestigious Omega European Masters.
In the summer the Col is open so you can drive over
to Verbier directly in just over 20 minutes. Down in the
valley within a short drive of the resort are many family
and cultural attractions including Lake Geneva, the
Grande Dixence dam, the Medieval town of Sion, Aqua
Park, Thermal Baths and underground salt mines. There
is plenty to do in the area.
The Jack Nicklaus course has been voted as the best 9
holes in Switzerland. Although the course is relatively
short it is challenging even for experts and players must
be very precise on the fairways. Just outside Crans is
the Noas Golf Course, a 9-hole course which is open to
everyone, with or without a handicap. Open year-round
(even in the ski season), and no reservation is required.

Legal Requirements
Swiss banks will lend up to 70% of the purchase price
and interest rates are currently very low at around 2%
to 2.5%. Fixed rates and flexible loans are also available.
Demand for property in the Verbier ski area is so high
that to stop prices going up too fast the Canton of
Valais only permits foreigners to buy certain designated
properties. They also restrict the number of foreigners
who are permitted to buy. At a referendum of 11th March
2012 the people voted to prohibit all new construction
of second homes from 1st of January 2013 so this is the
last opportunity to buy a new property in the Swiss Alps
as a holiday home.
Purchase costs
In Canton Valais the costs are amongst the cheapest
not just in Switzerland but in the whole of Europe. Total
costs including the notary, taxes etc. are approx 2.5%.
Investment
Prices have risen dramatically in Verbier and have
increased in the other villages which connect into the
Verbier ski area. Prices have risen substantially in Nendaz
and are rising in La Tzoumaz, Veysonnaz and Les Collons.
There is good potential for capital gain and in the interim
a good return on your investment if you chose to rent
your property. A long season and low running costs makes
this an attractive rental and investment proposition,
particularly as this resort is part of the famous Verbier
ski area with guaranteed good snow.
These properties are authorised for sale to foreigners
and the notary will apply for your foreigner purchase
permit as part of the purchase procedure. Buyers may
not resell to a foreigner within 10 years but they may resell at any time to a Swiss national or to a foreigner who
is residing in Switzerland (with a B or C permit).
This will be an excellent investment and will increase in
value as no more building permits will be given in future
for the construction of new properties like this.
