Frame System
Main Girders and Purlins
Main Girders and Purlins
Detailed Product Description
The girders illustrate technical orientation and have a filigree look. Steel or
steel-plate is the material specified for the whole of the frame construction.
For spans between 16.20 m to 30.00 m, the girders shall be constructed as
truss girders with vertical webs and open, almost square profiles to give that
filigree look.
For spans under 16.20 m, one-dimensional girders with round holes can be
used instead of the truss girders.
The girder and purlin ends have the identical dimensioned filigree look for all
roof forms and building sizes.
Where one dimensional girders are used, the girders and purlins in the area
between columns and roof edge shall be constructed without holes.

Mullion and Transom Façade
Product Description
The façade is a mullion and transom design construction with thermally separated profiles.
l
White aluminum, GEHOLIT + WIEMER, see page 17
The profile width is fixed at a maximum of 8 cm. and the load-bearing mullion
depth calculated in accordance with structural engineering criteria. Up to a
profile depth of 20 cm, a right-angle, T or double-T profile is designated. Where
the depth exceeds 20 cm, profiles with a perforated web or mini-truss shall be
used.
The terminal strips shall be of aluminum, the load-bearing mullions of aluminum
or steel. The vertical terminal strips can have various profile forms or types of
construction: flat and U-profiles, with/without bolt covers. The horizontal profiles
should, however, be selected with a smaller depth.

Façade System
Solar Protection
Solar Protection
Significant protection against the sun and over heating is provided by the roof
overhang and the ventilation flaps in the façade. Exterior sun blinds protect
against overheating; translucent interior blinds protect against glare. In addition,
it is a requirement that the uniform appearance and transparency of the Autohaus be retained. Any additional elements must accentuate the appearance of the
Autohaus as a whole without having a dominant effect. The showroom window
must remain transparent.
The reflective properties of the solar protection insulating glass clearly highlight
dirt. More frequent cleaning is therefore required. In order to prevent unwanted
absorption of radiation and thus additional over-heating, the glazing of the façade
should always be kept clean.
l
Translucent internal blinds for comprehensive protection against glare:
vapor-plated, translucent fabric (corresponding to SilentGliss, Alu Close,
color 30 silver or light screen, color 3 gray)
l

Façade System
Main Entrance
Main Entrance
A planked steel construction with customary profiles is planned for the construction of the main entrances. The construction is very simple, blends in exactly and
is separate from the main load-bearing construction. The element of the main
entrance which is accentuated in the vertical is the portal frame. It projects out
of and into the main facade at a constant depth. The sides of the portals are plastered and finished in the same way as the wall sections. The top sides are lined
with sheet metal.
The element of the main entrance which is accentuated in the horizontal is the
roof overhang. The clearly optically perceptible undersides and the top sides shall
be lined with sheet metal. The entrances shall always be constructed with a twoleaved door; either an automatic sliding door or a normal manually operated door
with revolving leaves. The draft excluder shall be formed by means of additional
glazed internal facade elements which can easily be added to at any later time.

Internal Walls and Internal Columns
l
The surfaces of the internal walls are treated differently according to their position and expressivity. Colors have a signaling effect and serve to distinguish
easily between individual areas.
The interplay between neutral and bright colors in the internal areas gives the
Autohaus a characteristic radiance. Some areas are accented beside the neutral
subdued main areas of color. Walls and columns are maintained in the colors
white or light gray, accented areas are in the colors blue (entrance, information),
yellow (background color for the wall or wall section only for passenger cars
presentation) and apricot (waiting and bistro area).

Product Description
Micaceous Iron Ore
Micaceous Iron Ore DB 703, GEHOLIT + WIEMER
l
Product features: GEHOROL-KH micaceous iron ore is produced on the basis of
modified alkyd resin and anti-corrosion, high-quality micaceous iron ore with
aluminum and /or colored pigments
Color: product no. K7-, DB 703 (German railway colors 703)
l
Application: internal and external. GEHOROL-KH micaceous iron ore finishing
coats together with suitable anti-corrosion primers result in excellent weatherresistant coatings.
l
l
Treatment: treatment is by brush painting, compressed air and airless spraying.
As a rule, two finishing coats are applied to intact undercoats. Dry coat thicknesses of 40–50 µm are achieved per operation. GEHOROL-KH micaceous iron
ore is temperature stable up to +150° C; the stability of the complete system is,
however, dependent on the existing undercoating.
If the undercoats are zinc-dust based either an undercoat of GEHOROL-DK
metal-based bonding agent or a special formulation of GEHOROL-KH micaceous
iron ore must be used.
Undercoats: the choice and thickness layer of the necessary undercoats
depends amongst other things on the property, the surface preparation and the
treatment conditions. Impurities on the undercoat such as grease, oil,
dust-layers, etc. must be removed.
Undercoating /anti-corrosion layers:
GEHOROL-DK metal-based K1-675, K1-731, K1-883
GEHOLIT-CORROLESS K1-891, K1-892

Company Profile
Armstrong Building Products GmbH
In 1860, Thomas Morton Armstrong opened a tiny two-man cork cutting shop
in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, making his first deliveries of hand-carved corks by
wheelbarrow.
In the 60s, Armstrong built its first plant in Europe. Today, it is market-leader
worldwide for acoustic ceiling systems and, as a result of recent acquisitions and
joint ventures, represented in all areas of the market for suspended ceilings in
Europe. Armstrong’s European plant structure ensures that Armstrong alone is in
full control of the production of all Armstrong products. This means continuous
production cycles which guarantee consistent and effective deliveries to our
customers.
For many companies growing internationally, Europe is a major cornerstone of
their corporate strategy. In order to meet the requirements of these customers,
Armstrong has founded the European Corporate Alliance. This group of Armstrong personnel offers these customers cross-border support in dealing with
problems of an international nature.
Please choose your Armstrong specialist on page 25. She/He will see to it that
your requirements with regard to Armstrong’s suspended ceiling systems are
met quickly and reliably.

Company Profile
Sto AG Germany
Maintaining the value of old and new buildings is a permanent problem for developers, investors and users.
In order to solve this problem, Sto researches, develops, produces and markets
product systems and services which maintain and improve the substance and
function of walls, ceilings and floorings and in the long term protect them from
damage. Hand in hand with this practical purpose is the aesthetic design service
for buildings using color and structure. With this, Sto aims to be a pacemaker
for environmentally conscious structuring of living space for people. That is
why Sto cultivates cooperation with customers and partners who have the same
goals. This guiding principle can be summed up in three words:
building with conscience
and Sto wishes this expression to be understood as the standard required of itself
and as a call to all those involved in construction to do likewise.

Cleaning and Maintenance:
Thanks to the permanent resistance to staining acquired during firing and the
resulting low level of water absorption, ITALGRANITI materials are easy to clean
with just hot water, even when soiled by substances such as engine oil, hydraulic
fluid, tire marks, brake fluid, etc., as certified by the Prüflabor Keramik & Stein,
Dr. Michael Schwerin laboratory in Munich.
Our Advice: Clean with detergents which do not leave residues (e. g. porcelain
detergent), using small amounts. Maintenance: no special maintenance procedures are needed.

Firestream
With this unique procedure, patented by Marazzi, the biscuit ist first heated to a
densification temperature of 1200° C. The gasses and micro-organisms contained
in the raw materials escape before a cascade of vitrifiable ceramics granules are
sprayed on the still red-hot fragments whereby glaze and biscuit fuse together to
an indissoluble unity.
What emerges is an even 1 mm thick extremely hard glaze of tiny crystals with
no micro-porosity, extreme compactness and good chemical stability.
Guarantee
Because of the special qualities of the series Enduro, Marazzi can guarantee for
a period of 20 years that under no circumstances will the glaze be completely
worn out by being walked on in the area of the property concerned and that the
tile can be cleaned perfectly with hot water and neutral detergent.
All these properties make Enduro an ideal glazed stoneware tile for areas in public and commercial buildings, in particular car showrooms.

Company Profile
Sto AG Germany
Maintaining the value of old and new buildings is a permanent problem for developers, investors and users.
In order to solve this problem, Sto researches, develops, produces and markets product systems and services which maintain and improve the substance and function
of walls, ceilings and floorings and in the long term protect them from damage.
Hand in hand with this practical purpose is the aesthetic design service for buildings using color and structure. With this, Sto aims to be a pacemaker for environmentally conscious structuring of living space for people. That is why Sto
cultivates cooperation with customers and partners who have the same goals.
This guiding principle can be summed up in three words:
building with conscience
and Sto wishes this expression to be understood as the standard required of itself
and as a call to all those involved in construction to do likewise.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Textile Floor Covering, Velvet
Proper maintenance cleaning is not only decisive for the cleanliness of wall to
wall carpeting, but also makes a significant contribution to enhancing the product value and its useful life. Cleaning is best done daily using a high-powered
suction cleaner with mechanically rotating brushes. It is best to go over the
whole floor twice (depending on the amount of dirt). This achieves the optimum
effect.
In addition to daily cleaning, every floor covering used in the building should be
cleaned thoroughly from time to time, depending on the degree to which it is
soiled. This will become necessary when the carpet is dirtied over a wide area. By
cleaning thoroughly, dirt will be removed in the most effective way, so reproducing the original qualities and optical appearance. How often this should be done
depends on the use of the correct method and the day-to-day cleaning. Thorough
cleaning should be undertaken by a specialized firm which has at its disposal the
appropriate state-of-the-art machines and accessories. DESSO DLW recommends
damp cellulose cleaning.
Included in the regular cleaning of tufted floor coverings in the building is the
removal of stains. The textile fibers are produced in such a way that stain treatment is successful in nearly all cases. If the material does become tarnished, the
fresher the stain is, the easier it is to remove.
No cleaning products may be used which contain bleach. An index of manufacturers and cleaning firms together with further recommendations can be obtained
from DESSO DLW.

Product Description
Laminate Flooring
General Information
Definition: Laminate flooring is a hard flooring with an upper surface consisting
of one or more thin layers of fibrous sheet material (mainly paper), impregnated
with thermosetting amino resins (mainly melamine resins). These layers are pressed directly onto a core material in case of direct-coated laminate flooring.
General Use
The requirements regarding flooring vary according to the use of characteristics
for the commercial sector. Please consider any company-related requirements
when choosing the laminate flooring elements.
Provisional Measures
l Fix felt pads under chair and furniture legs
l Use soft chair castors which are suitable for laminate flooring
l Provide sufficient foot mats or walking space near doors outside
l In the case of underfloor heating laminate flooring surface temperature < 28°C,
especially when carpets are laid on top
Automobiles on Laminate Flooring
Harmless. Additives such as softeners in car tyres of various manufacturers are
no problem for laminate flooring. Stains which are possible on other surfaces do
not occur.
Mercedes-Benz Sales Formats – 5.1.1 Materials – Colors – Products / Showroom / Product Description
Laminate flooring stands the weight of automobiles, but require, however,
special pressure-resistant sound-proofing materials and a flat base.
Care Guidelines – Basic Care
Cleaning should be carried out by means of vacuum cleaning or sweeping. The
floor can be wiped with a moist, well wrung-out cloth. Use clear water without
any agents or water with special laminate cleaning agent. Dry the surface
thoroughly afterwards using a clean cloth. Pools of water must be immediately
wiped up. Laminate flooring is very durable. It does not need any special treatment. The surface consists of high-quality melamine resins and not wood. Therefore please refrain from using floor polish or other cleaning agents. Warning:
Do not use steam cleaning machines. The panels may not be treated or sealed.
We will gladly inform you about special cleaning issues in individual cases.
Room Temperature
In order to prevent undesired gaps forming between panels, the surrounding temperature should be about +20°C and the relative humidity between 50 - 60 %.

Product Description
Multi-Layered Parquet Maple, Beech
Multi-layered parquet
General information, Canadian maple exquisite or beech as ship flooring or
country house planks S: Floor covering made from multi-layered parquet, durable by virtue of multi-coating of UV resistant acrylic enamel. The costly three-layered construction with off-set angled grain guarantees optimal dimensional stability.
Use in general: Because of the UV resistant multi-coat sealing in the factory,
Object +Parkett ready-made parquet is a long-lasting product which is easy to
maintain. Dirt trap zones in the entrance area contribute significantly to the preservation of the parquet floor. This area should be sufficiently large to ensure
that the parquet surface is not spoiled by sand and water. Furniture should be fitted with felt pads and office chairs fitted with castors type W, suitable for hard
flooring.
Use with automobiles on parquet: Because of the large number of additives,
such as softeners, in the car tires of all manufactures, direct contact between car
tires and parquet should be prevented. A separation layer made from transparent
acrylic material should be laid throughout between tires and parquet.
Maintenance instructions - initial treatment: After a new floor has been laid, it
is recommended that the parquet area be treated initially with a normal commercially available product (Berger-Seidle: Everclear L93, Bond Pacific Parket Polish,
Loba: Parkettglanz, CC-Dr. Schutz: Parkettglanz, Isra; Aqua Star GW or Pallmann:
Parkett Polish).- These products should be applied undiluted. They produce a
sheen and do not require polishing.
The additional protective coating significantly enhances the long life of the par-
Mercedes-Benz Sales Formats – 5.1.1 Materials – Colors – Products / Showroom / Product Description
quet. For maintenance, the aforementioned products are diluted with water. Clean
with the minimal amount of moisture.
Maintenance instructions - thorough cleaning / day-to-day maintenance: A
soft brush or vacuum cleaner is used for day-to-day maintenance. If there is a lot
of dirt, moist cleaning with a neutral cleaning product additive is recommended
(Berger-Seidle: 193 Everclean diluted, Bona: Pacific Parket Polish diluted, CC-Dr.
Schutz: Parkettpflege, Isra: Aqua Clean, Loba Parkettglanz diluted, Pallmann:
Wischpflege special). Too much moisture must be avoided. Never use steel wool or
steel chips for cleaning. Stains and moisture must be removed immediately. Stubborn stains can be removed with white spirit or a 50% alcohol solution. On no
account should scouring products or other chemical detergents be used here.
Maintenance instructions - resealing: After many years use, the parquet floor
can be refurbished by sealing it afresh. The need to do this depends on how often
the floor is used. Areas which are used a lot should be resealed in good time. The
resealing is to be done by an experienced tradesman. Our wear layers can be
resealed 2 or 3 times if the work is carried out correctly.
Room air conditions: In order to prevent unwanted formation of gaps, the
ambient temperature should be approx. +20°C and the relative humidity between
50 - 60 %.

Solar Protective Glass
Solar protective insulating glass, INFRASTOP, flat sheet
l
Features: INFRASTOP, neutral 51/37, solar protective glass layered, based on
wrought products Pilkington Suncool.
The solar protective insulating glass is characterized by a high-degree of selectivity, i.e., high light transmitting capacity but at the same time minimum total
transmitting capacity. This is achieved with a very thin protective stainless
steel layer facing the gap between the sheets. In addition to the good solar protective characteristics, with k-values up to 1.0 W/m2K, INFRASTOP meets all
the requirements for high-quality heat insulating glass called for today.
l
Cleaning: Do not use alkaline suds and acidic substances nor products containing fluorine. Grease and residual sealant are removed with non-aggressive solvents (spirits, isopropyl alcohol). Cleaning with scouring or abrasive materials
is only permissible for individual specs of dirt.
