We mark our 133rd year of educating, forming and maturing
young cadets to go forward from this place into the world to
make it better because Fishburne propelled us to life’s successes.
This weekend allows us all to re-connect with the school as it exists today, and to renew friendships from
our cadet pasts. Isn’t that what being a
“Fishburne Man” is all about?
In closing, my friends, you will get the
chance to see many good improvements at
school and catch up with old friends. I’ll

Michael’s Ride IV
New Addition to Alumni Weekend!
Michael’s Ride 2012 - A 100 mile cycling event held each year by
FMS to honor the life of Michael Woodard ‘07.
The ride began in October 2008. From its inception 100% of
all contributions have gone to the Michael Woodard Memorial
Scholarship Fund. Michael’s Ride will be formally recognized as
an event at FMS’s Annual Alumni Weekend in 2012. The date of
the ride this year is Friday, April 27, 2012.
The course of Michael’s Ride has been changed to encourage participation from friends, family and current and former classes at
FMS. At 0730 the ride will begin at FMS, and will consist of a 60
mile loop, a short break for lunch in the Sonneborne Mess Hall,
and then a 40 mile loop.
If you are interested in participating in the ride please contact

are asking that each participant help us meet our goal of raising
$5,000.00 in scholarship donations
to the Michael Woodard Memorial

Historic Lexington & Rockbridge
Vineyard Tour - Friday, April 27th
Also on Friday, FMS will take a group to Lexington, Virginia for
a guided tour. Virginia heritage and military tradition will unfold before you while visiting the legendary
George C. Marshall Museum, Lee Chapel
Museum, and of course, Virginia Military
Institute. You will enjoy lunch at the
Sheridan Livery Hotel and Restaurant. The
bus will leave Fishburne promptly at 8:00
a.m. and will return at 4:00 p.m. Cost:
$45.00 per person (includes transportation, lunch, and museum tickets.)

Friday April 27th
Don’t miss the Alumni Cocktail and Casino Night Friday
April 27th, from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m.! A night of good food,
great company, fun Vegas-style gaming tables, dance and
karaoke. The event will be held at the Stonewall Jackson
Hotel in Staunton. A round-trip shuttle service will be
provided. This is the second year we’ll be celebrating at this
location. Last year was a great success.
Cocktail Attire or Business Casual.
Cost: $60.00 per person.
Open Bar - 6:00-8:00pm / Cash Bar 8:00-11:00pm
