Instead of heading closer towards our destination, we realize that we are driving farther away from it. All drivers know that this does not take much—just one wrong or missed turn and everything is off. The good news is that we are not forced to continue driving the wrong path. We are able to turn around and head in the right direction. Despite the wrong turns and errors, we eventually arrive at the right destination because we are willing to make a U-turn or change our course. Just as we make wrong turns while driving and must turn around, the same is true on the road of life. God has planned a particular destination for us—life and life more abundantly in Christ—which culminates in life with God in eternity. In Christ, we also find our unique, God-given purpose and the wisdom necessary to accomplish it. This is the road God wants us to be on. When we realized we have made a wrong turn and find ourselves on the wrong road, the good news is we do not have to continue in the same direction. We do not have to continue in destructive habits, distress, guilt, shame, pride, or denial. No matter how long we have traveled in the wrong direction “It’s never too late for a change.” through Jesus Christ, (You)turns are always possible. One wrong turn throws everything off, but one right turn towards Christ makes everything new. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come” 2 Corinthians5:17 In the Grip of His Grace, Pastor Akinbinu
