about us
db symmetry was formed as a UK joint
venture through the purchase of a 60%
holding in Barwood Developments Limited
by clients advised by Delancey; a specialist
real estate investment, development
and advisory company. The investing
‘evergreen’ fund with committed equity
in excess of £1 billion has current total
assets under management in excess of
£3.7 billion (30th June 2014). The remaining
40% shareholding is controlled by the
former Barwood management team.
Our experienced development team
has been involved in some of the most
dynamic and successful speculative
and occupier led development schemes
throughout the United Kingdom. With
an existing portfolio of both ‘ready to go’
consented land and a significant strategic
land bank, we have the expertise, the sites
and the in-house funding to deliver high
quality buildings for our customers.
Created in 1996 the business has
evolved to become one of the leading
independent privately owned commercial
property development companies in the
United Kingdom.

for our customers…
strategic land
We have recognised over the years that
a good quality pipeline of consented
land – ‘our raw material’ – is vital to the
longevity of our business. The company
has an existing portfolio comprising over
1,500 acres of strategic land with an
expected development value of
over £2 billion which is anticipated
to receive planning consent for over
30 million sq ft of primarily logistics
property over the next four years.
1,500 acres
The portfolio is well located, concentrated
around the main motorway arteries of
the UK and primarily around the ‘Golden
Triangle’ of the M1 and M40.
Paramount to the success of our land
bank is the quality of the relationships
which we have been able to develop
with our landowner partners and local
authorities, who have learned that
they can trust that we will do what we
say we will, and that we do it in both a
transparent and straightforward manner.

db symmetry identifies, secures and promotes land with the potential for added value
through the planning process. We combine a strategic hands-on planning approach with
commercial insights firmly focused on value, deliverability and location. We produce
commercial solutions which enable all parties to achieve appropriate returns within
realistic timescales. On the following page are two examples of strategic land projects.

The Landowners were looking for a new partner. db symmetry
swiftly appreciated the commercial objectives of the Landowners,
and having agreed terms in a straightforward manner have
performed exactly as it said it would. Their approach throughout
has been refreshing and their focus and commitment to the
ultimate objective is unwavering.

development & sustainability
db symmetry deliver commercial
property development solutions, including
industrial warehouses, offices and retail
units throughout the United Kingdom
and Europe.
We can provide bespoke buildings in a
range of individual unit sizes, and have
provided over 9 million sq ft of high
quality industrial warehousing for a
range of occupiers.
We are used to working closely with our occupier clients to deliver buildings which exceed
their expectations. Occupiers we have worked with include;
We recognise the essential role of
the built environment in delivering
sustainable development; we understand
and embrace the need to have a positive
impact on the environment.
We therefore adopt a holistic approach
to creating energy efficient buildings,
sensitive to the climate and environment.
We believe that the approach to sustainable
development must be tailored for every
project to meet the needs of the client and
the requirements of the project stakeholders.
The requirements for our new headquarters were both complex
and detailed to match our position at the forefront of new
technology and innovation in the motorsport and aviation
industries. db symmetry and their team quickly immersed
themselves in and understood what we were trying to achieve,
and then translated that into a building solution. They were then
able to deliver within a very tight timescale.
