Buysend.com is an e-commerce business based in
Essex that sells a wide variety of consumer goods.
Their stock, ranging from automotive and electrical
products through to health and beauty items, is
supplied by UK suppliers and manufacturers. Since
their establishment in 2008, the company has
gained significant success through eBay, Amazon and
their own website sales.
Employing 25 staff the company despatches around
1,300 items per day which at peak times can rise to
2,000 items. Stocking over 50,000 product lines, all
items are distributed through two main warehouses
and despatched from one packing centre. Given
the significant amount of items being despatched
on a daily basis, the company was in search for an
efficient yet sustainable packaging solution that
would improve their packaging operations.

What did Buysend require?
Buysend.com were finding that with their increasing
sales, packing procedures could often be slow,
and inefficient. Their packing benches were basic
which led to untidiness as they were using another
packaging solution to package their goods - this was
proving to be both a costly at around £12,000 a
year.
Having attended the Spring Fair exhibition to find
a solution to the problem, Buysend.com were
very impressed with Easypack’s Packstation™ and
its integrated Packsolo™ system which provided a
solution to both problems.
Following a sales visit, Buysend.com ordered their
first Packstation™ and integrated system, followed
by two further systems.
What types of products are packed?
Buysend.com pack a wide and diverse range of
goods from sports equipment, household and
garden accessories, tools and DIY items and even
baby items. The products come in all shapes and
sizes so Easypack’s 100% recycled, recyclable and
biodegradable paper offered the perfect solution as
it is flexible, clean and sustainable.

Special design requirements
In order to increase the speed of their packing
operations, Buysend.com integrated an automated
label system and auto-tape system on to their
Packstations. They also needed to refer to their
monitors at the point of packing and therefore
requested a central bracket to support the
monitors for user convenience.
Why Easypack?
Buysend.com looked at a range of potential
packaging systems but Easypack’s range was by far
the best in terms of product quality and flexibility.
The hands-on approach by staff helped them to
integrate their new systems into their packaging
warehouse, alongside a new conveyor system.
