Straw Hat Farms of Marion County, IA Perennial Plant Catalog 2016 Growing Season Please note—this is a work in progress. We will do our best to continue to add photos and descriptions for each entry as we work towards completion. We will use as many pictures as we can of our own products, but in some cases we use suppliers’ pictures when necessary. The best way to tell is to come see us in person! Perennial plants are plants that will come up each year in Iowa (Zone 5). Like annuals some are shade lovers and some like full sun. When selecting perennials also consider the time of year that it flowers. By selecting a mixture of spring, summer and fall flowering plants you can have color in your perennial bed all year long.
