About Powerboat P1
P1 organise national race series in the UK, USA and in the UAE
(February 2013), and is in the process of establishing new race series
in a number of different countries including; India, China, Brazil,
Caribbean, Russia all of which would be expected to feed into a new
world championship event to take place in 2015.
P1 are also builders of a high-tech, one-design race and leisure boat
the P1-28S which forms the backbone of commercial franchises which
it looks to sell to commercial partners globally.
Powerboat P1 Management Limited (P1) is also the owner of a longterm international powerboat promoter’s licence granted by IOC
affiliated international powerboat governing body, the Union
Internationale Motonautique.

P1 SuperStock is a racing Championship that is affordable, equitable
and exciting for racers and fans. P1 SuperStock has international
appeal, recognition and guaranteed media exposure. Who wouldn’t

At the heart of the championship is the P1 Panther race boat,
designed in 2010, the boat has been engineered by the best race
engineers in the industry, tested and developed in the harshest
conditions over 18 months. The P1 Panther is powered by the award
winning Evinrude 250HO ETEC engine – powerful, efficient and fast.

All RACER participants have to deliver a Bond for
their rental boat pre-season.
Costs of the Boat Bond are as follows:
£5,000 (if race insurance is held)
£10,000 (if race insurance is not held)
Boat to be returned after final Round and will be
scrutinised by P1.

Retain 50% of prize money
If more than £500 of repairs are required to the
boat/engine then you will be given the option of
fixing these within 4 weeks or the total amount
required to fix the boat will be taken from the
Bond.

Race Weekend Format
Points & Classification
There are 5 race weekends which make up the 5 Rounds.
Within each round there will be 3 races, making a total of 15
point scoring races. At the end of each race weekend
race points are totalled up to determine the round winner.
Winners of each Race will be awarded a medal and Podium
finishers for the Round will receive trophy and prize money.
A typical Race is 20 or 30 mins on a 2nm course,
for Race 2 the grid will be reversed from the
outcome of Race 1 and for Race 3 the grid will
be reversed from the outcome of Race 2.

The Team (boat) with the highest number of Round points
after all completed Rounds will be awarded the 2013 P1
SuperStock UK Championship
Classifications
Teams completing less than 70% of the total
race time of the winner will be classified as DNF.
The individual racers (Drivers and Navigators) with the
highest number of Race points at the end of the season will
be awarded the P1 SuperStock UK Driver or Navigator Award
Rookies (less than 2 Races completed) require
sign-off by P1 Training Officer as competent and
must start on outside of course.

Racer Benefits
To take up the Racer package you must:

 Pay the Entry Fees for the Championship
 Own a P1 racer licence (P1 Race Training course
completed)
 RYA minimum standards of licence and race
training (including medical)
 Provide your own personal racing equipment (race
suit, helmet, life jacket, knife & compress)
 Compete in all Rounds of the Championship (Nonattendance will result in a fine)
 Maintain, store, transport, fuel and prepare your
boat for racing
 Livery your boat for the series as per the defined
areas
 Insure the boat for storage, theft and transit. It is
strongly suggested that you insure the boat during
racing as you are responsible for any damage
while the boat is in your possession (including
racing incidents)
 Service the engine and maintain your boat to a
minimum standard. (Nut and bolt check, grease
points and oil change, & Engine flush)
 Pay for all consumables in relation to the running
of the boat in training, leisure and racing
 Entry into all rounds of the P1 SuperStock UK
Championship.
 A P1 Panther race boat in full race condition, with all
on-board race requirements (fenders, buoyancy
bags, flags, fire extinguishers, anchor etc)
 Full Boat operating manual
 Access to the P1 Panther boat outside of race
weekends for practice, sponsor rides or pleasure
 Access to technical assistance on-site at all Races on
a ‘pay as you use’ policy
 50% of applicable prize money
 Guaranteed global television distribution & local
press including copyright free imagery from all
