Each classroom will have an assigned time for both the reading and math test sessions. Please check with your child’s classroom teacher if you have doctor appointments during the week as testing is difficult to reschedule Dear Eighth Grade Parents and Students: As you know, last Friday we returned from our annual eighth grade trip. There is always much anticipation and excitement before the trip. The teachers are usually a bit anxious as we want everyone to have a good time and to be safe. We are happy to report that we arrived back to Oak Grove exhausted but smiling! Your children were fun, enthusiastic, polite, respectful and entertaining, to say the least. We only wish that all of you could have heard the compliments that were received about our children. The highlight, of course, was the dinner theatre. The kids looked great and were extremely well behaved-quite an accomplishment when we are talking about so many eighth graders. Thank you to our eighth graders! You were kind, considerate, patient and fun. We only wish everyone could have seen the random acts of kindness that were constantly taking place. We as teachers share many memories, laughs, and stories, but they are all so positive. We so enjoyed this past week with all of you! Sincerely, Kathy Mahoney, Mark Clement, Jenna Matta, Matt Oesch, Eileen Pavletic, Dave Izenstark, Cam Christoffers, Sarah Sikorski, Kathy Strathman, Cindy Gallagher, Sandy Magdalener BAND NEWS Symphonic and Jazz Bands Concert is this Thursday, May 15. Collection will be from May 12-16. Thank Dear Parents, In anticipation of our career unit in May, we are seeking parents who would be interested in speaking to our 6th grade students about their careers. (Presenters need to be willing to share with our students’ information about their jobs and what it takes to get there!) We realize that 6th graders have many years to consider career paths, but we are hoping to create an awareness of the variety of career opportunities that are possible. Prior to our “Career Day” presentations, students will have an opportunity in Global Studies to investigate their individual strengths and weaknesses and then research a career. Presentations and parent speakers will culminate the unit. If you are interested, know of anyone who is, OR know an Oak Grove Alumni who is now in the work force and willing to share, please fill out the attached form and return it to school by Friday, May 16th. School contact: Susan Angster (ext. 592) Sincerely, Susan Angster & 6th grade team PLEASE FILL OUT THIS PORTION: Note the days and times you are available to come speak based on the schedule below. You are welcome to stay and speak for more than one session. For example, you may choose to speak for both sessions in a morning or afternoon OR just one session depending on your availability.
