Back to earth with a bump after our Med
Cruise on the NCL EPIC , but we saw some
terrific sights in ROME, PISA etc etc.
We took advantage of the NCL Dining
Offer that allowed us to eat at all the
restaurants you normally pay extra for . So
every night was feast and the saying that
you go on a cruise as a passenger and come
off as cargo was never more true! From the
brilliant onboard circus where you dine as
the acts continue to the excellent Cagney
Steakhouse, the food was excellent. If you
did not have the Dining package you could
still pay a supplement to go but the reports
we had from guests using the main dining
room was that they were more than happy
with the choices and standard of food
offered.
Burn The Floor was the main show in the
theatre (with Pricilla The Queen Of The
Dessert starting later this year). This was
an excellent professional show and as I
review theatre shows as a hobby I have
high standards and this cast were the best I
have seen on any cruise.
We started with a few days in ROME , but
then made the trip to PISA ourselves form
the ship as the train was only 20 minutes.
You could easily get to CAPRI or Sorrento
yourself from Naples and at each port
their were numerous suppliers offering
you excursions as well as “more than
helpful taxi drivers” But remember it is
YOUR responsibility to be back on board
before the ship sails, that is the security
you get when booking a cruise line
excursion. As its their issue if your late!
