At Knapp Medical Center, we know how important it
is for your child to receive the very best care. Did
you know that Knapp Medical Center Is the MidValley’s ONLY designated Level III Trauma Center
by the Texas Department of State Health Services to
provide resuscitation, stabilization, assessment and
treatment to injury victims.
From minor injuries and illnesses to life-threatening
emergencies, Knapp Medical Center’s Emergency
Department is equipped to provide efficient,
effective and comprehensive medical care. Patients
have access to our entire award-winning hospital,
including our state-of-the-art pharmacy, imaging
services, cardiac catheterization lab and a medical
staff of more than more than 250 physicians
representing more than 30 specialties.
Knapp also provides an in-house PCR System that
provides fast and accurate laboratory testing,
allowing physicians to quickly begin the appropriate
treatment for pediatric patients.
Knapp Medical Center is the recipient of The Joint
Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for healthcare
quality and safety.

Education Program
At Knapp Medical Center, we realize that a visit to
the hospital is stressful for a child, as well as for the
parents. That’s why our skilled and caring professionals
work hard to make your child’s stay as comfortable as
possible. Knapp offers a family-friendly environment for
infants, children and young adults to receive exceptional
comprehensive medical care.

Who is the Program for?
The program is open to low-income English or Spanish
speaking families who have, or are expecting, a child.
Program Requirements
Someone in the household must have a vehicle and a
working safety belt.
Families must attend a one‐hour class to learn how
to use the car seat correctly. Classes will be held on the
second Tuesday and fourth Thursday of the month
from 5:30PM to 6:30PM.
Parents must pre-register for class. Call 800-252-8255 to
register for the Safe Rider Course.
