Hospice Baskets are a Necessity for Families
When critically ill patients no longer respond to
medical treatments seeking a cure for their lifelimiting disease they often turn to hospice care
which provides comfort and support for both the
patient and their family. The focus of hospice is to
enhance the patient’s quality of life, preserve the
patient’s dignity and help them with end of life
issues while providing emotional support for the
patient’s caregiver and family. By bringing comfort
and resources to families, hospice care eases the
stress as their loved one makes the journey
through the final chapter of their life.
Families who are working with a hospice
agency are often at a loss as to how to interact
with their loved ones as they spend time with them
at home or in their rooms at Country Side or other
long term care communities. It’s now become
easier to entertain and communicate with loved
ones thanks to the hospice baskets that Thelma’s
Place creates. Baskets are filled with things such
as aromatherapy lotions and oils, Sudoku,
crossword puzzles & other activity books, inspirational books and short stories, water, healthy
snacks, stress balls, music and song books. The
goal for the baskets is to make it very easy to
choose something that will help make a meaningful
connection with a loved one. Baskets are available
for purchase directly from Thelma’s Place.
