January newsletter - Memory Lane Cruisers
Memory Lane Cruisers JANUARY 2015 www.memorylanecruisers.net VolumeXV, Issue 1 rd Business Meeting: 3 Tuesday of each month at Wyatt Johnson Toyota Dealership on Wilma Rudolph Blvd.…6:30 PM PRESIDENT’S CORNER I hope everyone has a great Christmas and New Year celebration this year. I know mine is going to be great because I will be officially retired! It’s clear that winter has finally arrived. It started out on the cold side but has been mild the last few days. It’s great to see the cold weather has not kept the club members from getting together at Wendy’s and talking cars. Our new members are also beginning to run with the rest of us and I appreciate them doing so. Thank you for electing me as your President once again, and I, along with all the other officers, will try to do the best job we can do to represent our club. We have already awarded $400 to each of 2 charities, Loaves & Fishes & Shop with a Cop, and $800 to special needs students at a local elementary school. We also contributed money to a deserving and needy family in the area. At the January meeting we will decide on whether there are other deserving charities we want to donate to. These donations would not have been possible if everyone had not pulled together and made our monthly cruise-in events and our annual car show a success. Thanks again to all who helped to make it happen! We are now underway with planning for our next show in the fall and we will discuss who we want to head up the efforts as our car show chairman for 2015 (hopefully Jim Hutchens). There are already some really great ideas surfacing on how we can have an even better show than we had this year. It will once again take a tremendous effort on behalf of all of our members to make this next show a success again. There are a few shows coming up in January and February that you might be interested in attending. Watch the newsletter or contact Don Mays for details. I would like to see more new members attend our monthly club meetings and get to know everyone on a personal basis. I encourage each of you to be on the lookout for possible new members to recruit. Until next month…. Bill Baggett Special Announcements Every Sat Night (even in Winter months) when we cruise to Wendy's all club members get their Drink for free as they do not have the 10% discount any more.
