What an amazing year Catholic High School has
had! We had many alumni back on campus for various
events, including Homecoming, a celebration of football’s
“undefeated teams”, and our Science and Social Studies
Fair. 2014 has proven to be a year of triumph and progress
as we have begun fund raising efforts and plans for a second
gymnasium and played in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome for
the Football State Championship game.
The new facility will be used for middle school games and
sports practices. The “Class Challenge” to get funds for this
practice gym has proven a success, but these efforts are not
over. Many of you, our Alumni, have been contacted by your
Class Captains in an effort to raise the most money for this
facility. A school like CHS is nothing without supportive alumni,
and the legacy that you leave affects all students that walk
our halls.
Our alumni football teams of 1962, 1966, and 1967
came out to support our Football Team as they went to the
State Championship game as an undefeated team. They
shared stories and excitement as they enjoyed food and the
company of old friends and teammates. These teams were
presented at half-time along with their coaches and we are
so thankful for their support and dedication to Catholic High.
As our school “painted the dome red” to support
our Panthers at the State game, it was evident that our
community’s love for CHS and their support of our current
students’ efforts are not going unnoticed. As always, CHS is
thankful for our Alumni! After all, it is you, our alumni who help
to keep our school going, and you who remind our current
students of the rich heritage and traditions of which they are
a part.
