Students had the opportunity to “drive” and actually see the impact of what happens when you drive distracted or under the influence. It was a great learning experience for both the students and staff. CHS students collect money and cards for Freshman injured in car accident... CHS Freshman, Anah Armstrong, was injured in a car accident. According to Anah’s family, she was riding in a vehicle that was hit. On impact, the spare tire came off the vehicle and hit Anah in the head causing multiple wounds and damage leaving her in critical condition. She is currently still in the PICU at Mercy Springfield and is awaiting transport to a Spine Specialty Hospital in Colorado. Students and staff have collected money, made cards, and prayed for Anah and her family. Pictured is Anah at her 8th grade graduation and in the hospital. Photos courtesy of Anah’s family RYLA 2016 CHS Juniors Alexa Carrillo and Hannah McCord were selected to attend the RYLA 2016 Leadership Camp sponsored by the Miami Rotary Club at Heart of the Hills. The camp focused on leadership, team building, personal growth, and motivation for success. See you at the Pole... FCA...September 28, 2016 My Life 2016 CHS girls in grades 9-12 attended MY LIFE 2016...the county-wide event held at the First Christian Church in Miami. Students were treated to lunch, given a free t-shirt, and discussed topics including self-esteem, abstinence, consent, sexual bullying, dating, and relationships. The theme was #youcandoit and the girls were encouraged to dress as Rosie the Riveter to be entered into a $100 drawing. Pictured, left to right, are the CHS girls who dressed up for the drawing: Valeria Lerma, Zoei Adams, Ryleigh Bailey, Caitlin Roberts, Alysha Hogan, and Leah Tarrant Fall Homecoming 2016 Chandler Wilson was crowned Fall Homecoming King and Xena Canales was crowned Homecoming Queen just before Friday night’s football game against Caney Valley where the Tigers defeated the Trojans 68-8.
