This year, Beth Franchville has joined the group by volunteering countless hours assisting Mr. McCoy in
leading this group. According to Mr. McCoy, “Beth is resourceful and energetic. She seems to know
what is popular with the audience and bonds well with the students involved. Her smile is contagious
and worth catching.”

“The performances are definitely a group effort. For the majority of performances, I developed the
overall concept. Senior, Tyler Freeman, found the music and taught it to the Drumline” Beth said.
Beth continued by saying, “As we practice, especially on a gym floor, we
brainstorm moves. Sometimes, a member was just goofing off and accidentally did something that everyone loved and incorporated it in the performance.”
Tyler Freeman, senior, said, "When I first started our Drumline last year, I
thought it would be fun but didn't imagine that we would be able to do
what we did this year with our performances." Senior Ryan Ledford stated, "It's great to hear people say that we are the reason why they come to
the games because they want to see us perform." Joey Brown, senior,
stated, "I am really going to miss Drumline and hate to see it come to an
end. I know it will be one of my all time favorite high school memories."
Beth plans on working with the Drumline in the summer, and plans to, take them to watch some
Marching Band contests in Plainfield, Fishers, Ben Davis. Their first 'field trip' is scheduled for Saturday, March 23 to Ben Davis to watch the Indiana Percussionist Association
State Finals.
In closing, please like us on the Facebook page that Sophomore Tyler
Kehrein developed entitled: Cascade Cadets Drumline. And most importantly, thanks to family, friends, and the community for their support.

Mock Trial Team Enjoys Success
On Saturday, February 9, the Cascade High School Mock Trial Team competed at the regional competition. Though the team did not advance to
state, Abigail Vorhies received an award for "Best Attorney" and Quinn
Toole received an award for "Best Witness." The Captains, Jordan Watson
and Abigail Vorhies, did an excellent job leading the students throughout
the competition.
There were eight students in the competition: Jordan Watson, Abigail
Vorhies, Austin Decker, Quinn Toole, Alexander Mahan, Matt Gochenour,
Alexander Van Winkle, Drew Hansen. Since teams could only have eight ,
the other two members were our time-keepers: Tarah Thornburg and
Brent Trauner.
Congratulations to the CHS Mock Trial Team for an outstanding Competition.
