THE BRAIN
SURFBOARD BLANK TECHNOLOGY
Until now, the structure of a surfboard has been rooted in the wooden stringer.
As a board is shaped, the stringer is thinned down with each pass of the planer.
THIS ALTERS THE STRUCTURE OF THE BOARD.
A thick board has more structure, making the board stiffer in turns.
A thinner board has less structure making the board more flexible.
Instead of relying on a wooden stringer that is altered as the board is shaped,
INCIDE sandwiches the structure inside of the foam blank via 'THE BRAIN'.

This carbon fiber part is pre-tuned prior to shaping allowing the board to be shaped without altering
the flex or integrity of the structure. With 'THE BRAIN', we are improving the classic wooden stringer,
now providing board builders the ability to approach their shaping in a new light, opening new doors
for design and processes in which boards are made.

This amazing weight to strength ration
makes carbon fiber one of the most high
performance materials out there.
With INCIDE’s blank technology, the performance and
structure of the surfboard is fixed in carbon fiber.
Up until now people have only used carbon fiber in the
external shape of the board. This does not work for
a number of reasons, mainly cost and the inability to tune
your shape making it simply an expensive glass job.
Instead we use carbon to actually make a better board
by not only extending the performance life of your
board, but increasing the ability to

FLEX
SURFBOARD BLANK TECHNOLOGY
Flex is best decribed as the way a board bends, then recoils as it comes back to static.
The faster the recoil, the more lively the board feels.
Feeling this response is what gives that magic board feeling.
The key to INCIDE's blanks is that we have the ability to control this flex independent from the design.

Unlikely - the brain is suspended in a spot that is untouched by the Shaper 99% of the time.
WELL - WHAT IF I DO HIT IT?
Not a problem, as strong and durable as carbon is - it can be cut with normal household scissors
your planer will win and live to shape another rail.
WHERE IS THE ‘BRAIN’ LOCATED?
The bottom of the brain is flat - locate the center seem on the rail of the blank
All of the foam below that line, is ‘brain’-less - shape away // measure an inch
