Living/Dining Room Glenlivet Lodge is a family owned and run holiday home, a short walk from Aviemore Village centre. The house is situated in the quiet residential Silverglades area. We strive to ensure the house is well equipped and comfortable, with everything a family needs whilst on holiday. There are board games, books and DVDs, as well as WiFi for those who can’t stand being offline for too The Strathspey Steam Train runs long! behind the garden The living room looks towards the mountains and has TV, free Sky, DVD player, Wii console (selection of DVDs and Wii games), iPod/MP3/CD player and Wi-Fi router. The dining area seats 6 people, and there is a high chair available. The kitchen is very well equipped with the usual appliances incl washer/dryer and dishwasher. For each let we ensure there is a supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs and washing tabs. There is plenty of cutlery and crockery, including bowls etc for the wee ones. Twin Rooms The 2 twin rooms are off the hall from the living room, and share the main bathroom. Sun Room The sun room is a peaceful sitting area with windows on both sides and on the roof, so is bright and welcoming, even on rainy days! Our garden is fully enclosed by ranch fencing, so safe for young children. The highlight for many guests is watching the Strathspey Steam Train chuffing past the fence at the back of the garden, literally only a few feet away. The decking at the back of the house has a raised area for younger (and shorter) guests to easily view the train—we call it Glenlivet Platform One! There is a dressing table and plenty of drawer storage space, and a quality hairdryer and hair straighteners are provided. Kitchen There are 3 bedrooms, 2 twin bedrooms sharing the main bathroom and a master bedroom with super king size bed and ensuite shower room. The living room has comfortable seating and dining area for 6 people. There are French doors leading to the patio area on the south side of the house. The ‘purple’ room has a large window facing the side patio; the ‘teal’ room faces the front. The sun room faces south and with so many windows is bright and pleasant and the ideal place to read (books provided), listen to music or watch the TV/DVD player. A nice alternative sitting area, or place for the young ones to play a board game or hang out, with door leading to the patio. Both rooms have 2 single beds with bedside drawers and storage. Both rooms have a hairdryer and TV with either DVD player/PS2 for playing DVDs—no TV signal though! Garden The garden has 2 main areas to the side and rear of the house, with seating on the patio outside the sun room, and garden set at rear—a great place to watch the Steam Train go by. The garden is fully fenced in and has a latched gate, so safe for young guests. There is a raised deck for viewing the Steam Train which runs just a few feet from the fence. Main Bathroom The main bathroom has bath with electric shower, toilet and sink. Towels are provided (hand and bath) for each guest.
