AVRIL G. LOVE defends pharmaceutical, medical device, and personal care
manufacturers in multi-jurisdictional litigation, state coordinated proceedings, and
class actions, particularly in the context of recalls and other regulatory issues,
including FDA and customs compliance. Avril also resolves business matters
brought in federal and California courts involving antitrust, fraud, contract
disputes, trade secrets, and other torts on behalf of clients in the construction,
aerospace, and communications industries. As well, Avril works with a local legal
aid organization to help children get court-appointed guardians.
Avril lives in her hometown with her husband and two children. In her free time,
Avril enjoys cooking, reading, roller derby, and DIY projects.

wrongful death or other injuries involving a generic heart medication recalled for
a possible manufacturing defect
• Defended related product liability design defect cases for injuries associated with
Stevens-Johnson Syndrome involving over-the-counter drug
• Defended California coordinated proceeding for over 2000 product liability cases
involving a recalled metal-on-metal hip implant
• Defended product liability and consumer advertising claims in multi-plaintiff
case alongside consumer class action involving skin care products
• Defended manufacturer in customs investigation and advised regarding origin,
classification, NAFTA, and duty exemption issues
• Obtained dismissal in unfair competition and false advertising case involving
contract and tort claims alleged against Internet domain name registrar
• Prosecuting a Section 2 sham litigation action in federal district court in Puerto
Rico on behalf of a major international telecommunications firm
