COCONUT GROVE ARTS FESTIVAL AN ANNUAL TRADITION FEBRUARY 13-15, 2016 In 1963, theater press maven Charlie Cinnamon organized an intimate “clothes line” art show featuring a handful of artists and a few thousand onlookers as part of a promotion for the Coconut Grove Playhouse’s production of Irma la Douce. Better known today as the Coconut Grove Arts Festival®, Charlie’s vision has transformed into one of South Florida’s most successful cultural events, attracting an estimated 100,000 people to the winding streets of Coconut Grove during Presidents’ Day weekend. The 53rd annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival® (CGAF) returns this Presidents Day weekend, February 13-15, 2016 to showcase award-winning works by North America’s most talented artists. Regarded as America’s most popular outdoor fine arts exhibition, CGAF boasts more than 380 artists across 12 different, yet equally rousing, categories. They include: mixed media, painting, photography, digital art, printmaking & drawing, watercolor, claywork, glass, fiber, jewelry & metalwork, sculpture, and wood. An additional category, the New & Emerging artist category, will present some of the newest faces in the outdoor fine arts world. A favorite component of the annual event, the Culinary Pavilion, will again host top name chefs from the hottest restaurants and hotels in South Florida and present cooking demonstrations beginning every day at noon. They attended when they were children, and now bring their children to this traditional family event. With such a rich and extensive history, it’s hard not to remember special moments at the Arts Festival throughout the years,” said CGAF President, Monty Trainer. The Children’s Trust Art Alley also returns this year with an interactive Kids’ Area that encourages children, ages 2-12, to express their imagination and creativity through hands-on workshops. The Coconut Grove Arts Festival has consistently been named one of the best fine arts festivals in the nation by Sunshine Artist Magazine and remains the top voted outdoor arts festival in the history of the magazine’s 200 Best. Men’s t-shirts are designed to look effortless, merging functional and technical attributes with classic Italian tailoring. Core styles, such as the Vee Tee and Mayne Tee, are enhanced with stretch to keep their shape, move with you, and transition from day to night – on cooler nights, layer Kit and Ace t-shirts to keep cozy and stylish. Kit and Ace is a technical company and innovates in every area of product design – from the luxury fibres woven into its proprietary fabrics, to the intensive testing of products, including wash and wear testing.
