An Evening with Mark Messier, John Elway,
Gordie Howe and Canadian Olympic Athletes
Edge School is excited to invite you to join us on Thursday, October 30th for a once in a lifetime
opportunity to spend an evening with Mark Messier, John Elway and several Canadian Olympic
Athletes. This special evening will also include a guest appearance by none other than Mr. Hockey
himself, the legendary Gordie Howe.
Mark “The Moose” Messier is considered to be one of the greatest hockey players of all time as well
as one of Sport’s Greatest Leaders. A six time Stanley Cup Champion, Messier was also a 16 time
NHL All-Star and represented Canada on the International Stage on several occasions. He is the
only National Hockey League player to Captain two teams to a League Championship. Since retiring, The Moose has had a distinguished career as a Senior Executive with the New York Rangers
as well as in business.
John Elway is considered to be one of the most prolific football quarterbacks of all-time as well
as one of Sport’s Greatest Leaders. Elway led the Broncos to five Super Bowls, winning his last
two, and was recognized as the MVP of Super Bowl XXXIII. Elway was inducted into the NFL Pro
Football Hall of Fame in 1994. Currently the Executive Vice President of Football Operations and
General Manager for the Denver Broncos; Elway’s Broncos made it to the Super Bowl last year and
look to take the next step this season.
Edge School Foundation is also very excited to announce that Gordie Howe will be attending the
evening as our special guest. Mr. Hockey requires no introduction and was the feature speaker at
the 2006 ELD. Gordie will be joined by several well-known Canadian Athletes, each of whom have
had tremendous success in National and International Competition including proudly representing
Canada at the Olympics. These leaders embody what sport can bring to a Nation and to individuals;
they represent what many of our student-athletes aspire to be.
Legends and Leaders will feature an engaging and interactive discussion with Mark Messier and
John Elway (Hot Stove Format). A phenomenal live and silent auction and banquet dinner will complement the Hot Stove.The Edge School Foundation is committed to providing Edge Students with
the best opportunities in their sport, in the classroom and in life. Proceeds from the Edge Legacy
Dinner will support Edge student-athletes and programming.
